I was ready on one of the threads that you can not go through the tunnels in Virginia if you have propane ( like for te refrig). ose this mean if it is on or just having it on board. Please help!:) :)

Do you mean the ones on I-77? If so I go through there a lot and I've never seen any warnings about that.

Tanks must be turned off to use Chesapeake Bay B&T.

There is a propane hazard restriction on one route through Baltimore that requires going through a tunnel. Can't think of exactly which off the top of my head (it's one of the "95s"), but if you're going through there you'll definitely want to find out ahead of time.

My family got stuck once right at the toll and we had to turn around and go all the way back and around to the right road (ugh).

Propane needs to be turned off in all tunnels. We go through two tunnels on 77S in WV/VA. Just look for a rest area before the tunnel, turn it off and look for another rest stop after tunnel and turn it back on. Gives you a little stretch of the legs too!

The info on VA tunnels is correct but the info on the Baltimore tunnels (Ft. McHenry and Baltimore Harbor Tunnel) is not. No propane tanks allowed. They pull over all RVs they see and the fine is steep. The Baltimore Beltway is 695 and is a minor inconvenience.

That's what I meant to say, but I didn't do it well (and thanks for the name of the tunnels, they were escaping me). No propane through the Baltimore tunnels at all.

695 isn't a big deal if you know that's where you're supposed to go and exit accordingly. When my family goofed (many years ago) they turned us around at the toll before the tunnel, and we had to backtrack and then take 695 around... right in the middle of rush hour. Not fun. No idea how my dad missed all the hazard signs. :confused3
