Prom

For those that have experience, what is prom like? One of my band friends asked me to go, and being a freshman, I have no idea what in the world the prom is like. Does anyone have any advice to offer a poor, befuddled girl?

Prom is pretty much like any other dance except you get a really nice dress.

You arrive, check in, eat cheese platters and sit at your table until everyone shows up, dance, eat dinner, dance, dance some more, go home (at least that's what it was like when I went).

People tend to make a big deal out of it, but it really isn't...at least for me it wasn't. Overall though, it was a great time and a great memory..

I haven't, you know had a prom, but generally people will show up at a location and get pictures taken and stuff while everyone still looks spiffy.

Prom is kind of like the Academy Awards. You feel all glamorous walking in, then it loses its novelty after like half an hour. I had fun though. When we got bored, we just danced and that turned out to be a great time. Prom is a lot of fun.

I've only heard good things about it, and I'm sure I'll have a wonderful time. I'm just a little worried that Cody (the guy who I'm going with) and Raysha, a fellow flag member, will be the only people I know there. That would be awkward, I'm sure.

its my senior year and im still debating prom. i dont really want to go. im easily annoyed by rap/hip-hop music of any kind, it really puts me in a "grr" mood, and that just so happens to be what my school plays..for everything. im not that fond of dress shopping, seeing as everything i actually like is made for the anorexic teens of america. im kinda being "anti-school spiritish". im going to grad nite. just cuz its at disney though.

I've also been invited 2 prom and I'm kinda not sure if I should go or not. I'm also afraid ad part of the reason that I don't wanna go is b/c i'm afraid that I'm gonna be the only freshman there. I know that it'll be fun but I'm not sure. There still is like a while away but Idk.
