Prom this year...

I didn't want to hi-jack a post about HER prom, so I thought I'd make my own.

Who has prom this year?!
What kind of dress do you have/want?
How do you want your hair?
Got a date?
Any post-prom parties?

In America do you guys have more than one prom? Because in movies and stuff they have like 'junior' prom and stuff. (i sound like a total moron, but it's a real question)

In Canada (or at least, where I'm from) we only have one prom in grade 12.

This is what I have in mind of a dress;

something like that.
with either hair down, curly or like a mini-beehive type thing.

im jazzed. im going to Montreal in April to look for a dress.

thats why im looking for a more elegant maybe knee-lenght one.

i flippin HATE those gross-puffy ball gown-esque dresses!

they DO look okay on SOME people, but they are definitley not for me.
they remind me of a cheezzzy beauty pagaent or soemthing.

We used to have junior prom, then we stopped doing that. But we might do one this year (I am junior and my class has extra money this year but I don't know if that's happening or not. But yeah we have one next year when I'll be a senior.

we have one prom but it is for Juniors and Seniors and you can go if you're a sophmore but only if a junior or senior asks you and freshman aren't allowed to go. I am a junior this year so I am going. I already have my shoes I just have to find a dress to match. I was looking today, but next weekend I'm going in to Houston so hopefully I will find something there. and maybe my bf will go to prom with me, but we will see.

well.
we have a May dance for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. It isn't formal. only knee length dresses.

then 10th-12th can go to prom which is also in May.

Long dresses seem like a wonderful idea, but when you get to dancing and everyone's sweating it gets VERY hot and you wish you wore a shorter dress. That's what every Jr. was saying who had a long dress. I had to sit out for a few minutes to cool off, there were over 300 people dancing last night, you can imagine the body heat from everyone.

During the night you also take off your shoes, so ones from like Ross are good since you'll only be wearing them to talke into the building and take pictures. There was just a pile of shoes on the floor from all the girls.

well since i'm in middle school, i'm more focused on graudation than prom.

but in hs we have junior and senior prom, and you can only go if your not in those grades if someone from those grades ask you.

i like shorterish dresses.

but i do have a long one.

My school only has a senior prom. If you are in lower grades a senior has to ask you to go. I kinda wish we had a junior prom, but no...

we have a junior-senior prom. its on april 20th. i dont want to go. yeah, its my senior year, but i freaking hate the people at my school and id rather not waste my money and my time on an event that id only be going to so my friends can laugh and giggle at the fact that im in a dress. i dont look good in dresses, heck, i dont look good in much of anything, and id rather just not waste my time at my senior prom, that i wont care about the day after. -shrug- i have other things to waste my time/money on.

We have seperate junior & senior proms. My junior prom is April 27th this year. It's a fairy tale theme, so I was considering doing either a strapless blue dress like Cinderella, or a gold/sparkly one like Belle. But there are so many other cute ones, I might not go with the theme at all.
