PROM: Help me find a dresss (ORDERED ONE!!)

I bought two dresses last week for my law school formal for $12 each from Dillards! It was awesome. Now I just have to decide which one to wear...They also had some really cute ones at Penneys too for 50% off. Good luck!!

LOL That is the same exact dress that I will be wearing in my cousin's wedding in November but in the Latte color! Darn, I didn't even think of looking for it on Ebay. :confused3
Yeah, when I sold mine I was upset because I paid full price for mine and people were selling them for less than half the price, and in my size.

I went to two proms in high school, and then went in college as a freshman with the boy I was still dating who was a senior in high school. I didn't want to spend the money on the dress, so I ended up finding a nice dress at jcpenneys. I think it was only about $40. It wasn't my dream dress, but it fit well and looked decent. I think I got shoes in silver at payless for less than $20. I still paid to get my hair done, so I think the whole deal cost me around $100.

i have a brown (cocoa)tea length dress stapless that has a pink(pale) middle I believe it was a size 18 you are welcome to. I was going to donate it to the prom closet at a drycleaners I wore it in a wedding. It is by Bill Levkoff. I'll see if I can find a picture.

billlevkoff (This is where the com would go) /collections/index.asp?dress=1000

try keepmeinstitches.com

Lots of reasonable prices and styles.

I have gotten several prom type dresses over the past 8 years at Dillards that I have used for numerous occasions and I have never paid more than 50 dollars for them b/c they have come off of the clearance rack. I know this doesn't really help you but a local thrift store here managed to pick up a massive shipment of Prom/evening gown dresses all brand new. It wouldn't hurt to take a look and some that might be in your area and see what they have but definitely check out dillards and jcpenney's, david's bridal is another good place to look they have especially w/ their spring sale going on right now.

I second the Deb, they're usually in a mall somewhere...they are also on line at debshops.com. One year we found a homecoming dress for my daughter on clearance in the store for only $5:dance3: We haven't been quite that lucky since, but they do have a wide range of styles, sizes, and prices. Also, if you have the Entertainment Book, there's a 20% off coupon you can use.

Megveg, I read your update. Do you mean you want to order that dress from the eBay link? It looks like it is hand made as a special order and comes from China, so if you need it ASAP I'm not sure that would work for you. :confused3 It sure is a beautiful dress, though. If you're looking for a bridal type dress like that, I'd try to find a David's Bridal locally, since they often have sales and maybe you could find a similar one in the price range and time frame in which you need it. Good luck!

This is a pretty popular bridal style right now (my DD is getting married next year, and we've looked at quite a few dresses). I agree with checking David's or some other bridal store.

I think the dress you posted from looks too wedding-y...not to be harsh, just my opinion.

I just wanted to pass along www.marysbridal.com . I was looking for a Cinderella style wedding dress, and I found this - they have a lot of old-world style dresses, for proms and such too, and the quinceanera collection is absolutely lovely.

I don't know if they're in your price range, but perhaps you can find an ebay seller willing to use the dress as "inspiration"? If you PM me, I can give you the custom dress makers I found, but I cant promise anything as I haven't used them..

Good luck!

I saw this one a few weeks when we were at David's Bridal! It is SOOO beautiful!! The one on display was in the light blue color and is very sparkly. I want to get married all over again so that I can wear this dress! LOL Or buy it now for my DD's for Prom or something in the future even though they are only 8 and 1 right now. :lmao:

When you click on the link, the picture is of the white one. Just look a bit further down and there will be a few color choices. Click on the blue one. princess:
