Prom Gowns...what are parents thinking?

I saw that email and I was sitting here with my jaw dropped open at some of those dresses. The one with the cut out was crazy. I dont see how some parents can think that some dresses are ok. I just hope the sweetpea remembers all Ive taught her and wont make me crazy.

it was very hard finding prom dresses this year all of them were kinda weird and gross....

Our school has a banquet instead of a school sponsored prom and you have to bring your dress in for approval beforehand. I think it is a stupid rule to have to have because if parents were doing their job, you wouldn't have to get the OK from the school. However, since this rule hasn't always been in place, we know that in years past that parents allowed too revealing dresses to be worn.

This was very similar to my nieces. Hers was a bit plainer w/o the embellishments on the top or bottom but otherwise very similar dresses. I thought Krista looked very pretty but not sexy in the dress--which was exactly how a HS girl SHOULD look.

Some of the girls at my son's prom did look like this, in fact his date looked bEAUTIFUL in her dress which was the same type of style as the girl above.
One Asian girl in his class looked absolutely like a model. She had a black strapless gown but over it she had a long sheer asian influenced type of coat with a black bag. VERY classy and stylish without being prudish. Unfortunately there were way too many girls who thought that they were starrying in "Naughty Prom Dates" .
