Hi all,

I need to lean on the collective creativity of this forum. Evidently, the old days of just asking a girl are gone. When he was previously asked.... It was spelled out in sushi rolls because he really likes sushi. We'll, be dining at a tutto Italia and we were trying to come up with something nice. Maybe have it written on the desert plate or something? I thought this group could do better than that.

Thanks in advance for your ideas...

Do it at a character interaction? Have the character be part of the proposal somehow?

You could order a cake from Disney with "Will You Marry Me?". I believe this is still the info for doing that:

Tutto Italia & Via Napoli — 407-560-8040

  • 6-inch $23 cake in all-chocolate or all-vanilla
  • 8-inch $32 cake in tiramisu, chocolate mousse or strawberry shortcake
  • 10-inch $45 cake, same options as 8-inch
  • Larger cakes: $10/person
  • No screen prints available

Oh, I should ask...Are you sure the answer will be yes? Asking in a public place can be tough if you are not sure. If you aren't sure, you might do it during Illuminations. Get a great place for viewing and pop the question during a dramatic time in the show.

I read this as a request to go to Prom not get married.

And it sounds like the girl is asking the guy??
But if they are on vacation together, I also would think it's pretty set to be a yes.

I'm a little confused as to what is being asked. Is your son asking someone to prom? I think having it written in chocolate on the desert plate would be fun, but are you limited to asking at the restaurant? There are plenty of other opportunities at Disney to ask such a fun question. Have a character hold up a piece of paper that says "Will you go to prom with..." and then an arrow pointing to who's asking. Or even something just as simple as asking while you are waiting for the fireworks one night.

Sorry, saw the prom and saw the proposal. I thought they were eating there for prom and a proposal was in the works. I did think they were a bit young. But who am I to judge? :)

I guess you can still do the cake. Just ask, "Will you go to prom with me?"

Or maybe learn to ask it in Italian and have a waiter translate it for you. That could be fun.

I totally understand the confusion... heck, when I and I bet we were young.. you just asked... specially for a prom date... and they are not even dating.... ?!?!?!?!?!!? so... I think yall have it correct, my son is asking a girl to the prom as a friend.. and we think the answer is going to be yes.. they have been to formal events before and had a good time. kind of a group thing.....

anyway, they seem to try to come up with unique ways to ask each other to their senior prom. The cake idea isnt that bad of an idea.. it could even say Would you like to go to the prom?

Another idea he had was get them prince and princess mouse ears.... but I told him, maybe if they were dating.... that seemed a bit much for two friends going to the prom.... anyway... I really appreciate the help... keep the ideas coming...

I think the character holding up the prom sign would be cute. Especially they are both in the picture.
Actually he can just hold the sign up while they take the picture and then when she sees the picture (as we all look at it on our phone after it's taken) she will get the message.

Agree if they were dating the prince/princess ears would be cute. But since they are just friends......eh it depends on if they do goofy things together like that. I'm assuming you mean the guy one is the tux one (typically groom) and the princess one for her. Not the bride/groom
Maybe he can suggest that to wear to the prom after she says she will go with him.

I guess I'm just a little short on ideas and not to make it be romantic/dating feel.

LOL just thought of something....I believe it's at "It's a small world" that once you are in the boat the people in the window area wave at you as you go through. I don't know how you can get them to plan it ahead, but maybe they could hold up the sign "XXX will you go to prom with me?".

I'm glad I don't have to deal with that. My son's had no interest in prom and I had to ask a friend to take me to prom. Back then girls really didn't ask guys to take them, but I was running out of time and this was a neighbor that didn't go to my school.

Can you get the Cinderella slipper dessert at Tutto Italia? Since Cinderella lost her glass slipper at the dance? I'm terrible with the whole picture, but get my point?

I know that characters are not allowed to be in proposal pictures, at the first sign of ring, or bended knee, they must turn their backs. Not sure how they would react to a prom-posal, since less is on the line.

In case you are wondering why, it's because of the character's frozen smiles. Can you imagine if the i girl says no? Mickey's standing there with a big smile? It would go viral. Not good PR For mickey

Have Arribas engrave a small glass slipper with Prom 2015 and gift it to her, maybe while meeting Cinderella?

IMG_0236.JPG My DS and his high school band were at WDW 4 years ago to march in the MK parade. He bought mouse ears with Prom? embroidered on the back and presented them to her during Wishes.
