Projected commute time between all stars music and parks?

If I want to make it to MK early entry between 8:30-9am, what time should I plan on being at the all stars music bus stop? I'm aiming for Winnie the Pooh if wait time isn't bad, with Tomorrowland Speedway as a second choice. I don't want to kill ourselves to get a "good position" for rope drop so I know things like 7DMT and peter pan are likely out of reach.

Similarly for Epcot and Hollywood studios, but I am shooting for slinky for HS and wonder if driving is a better option.

I know "official" Disney suggestion is to budget 1h but when I last stayed at Pop, I figured it was closer to ~30min (15-20min wait time and 10-15min bus ride) and all stars is even further away.

I'm planning for mid-day return to hotel for naps and have a small child who has an early bedtime so won't be in the park later than 7pm.

My current plan is:
7:45-8:30am: bus commute from ASM to MK
8:30-1pm: MK time!
1-1:45pm: bus commute back to ASM
1:45-4pm: nap
4-4:45pm: bus commute back to MK
4:45-7pm: MK time!
7-7:45pm: bus commute back to ASM

Do these times look reasonable?

Bear in mind that the All Stars are a lot further away from the parks than Pop Century. For DHS, you may very well be better off driving.

Recommended travel time for all resorts for early theme park entry (ETPE) is to arrive at your resort’s transportation 90 mins before ETPE begins.
Wait, you're telling me we need to be at the bus stop at 7AM for 8:30AM early entry??? That's even worse than I thought! Haha

Thank you for this info. Is budgeting 45min in the middle of the day still reasonable?

If I drive DHS to rope drop slinky (my understanding is that I need a good rope drop "position" for slinky), when should I aim to be at the DHS parking lot?

In my experience, DHS doesn't open its parking lots until 1 hour before opening. Previously, if we were off and arrived too early, we had to circle around and come back. I'd try to time it to arrive approx 1 hour before opening.

I looked back on my last trip to All Star Music and MK had Early Entry at 7:30 AM, we were at the bus stop at 6 AM and there was a bus right about then who did wait a bit to see if others came. We were the only ones on the bus and to be fair, you *know* you are early when security even tells the Disney Bus that they can't let us off yet. I think it was 6:40ish that we were off the bus and we were in the park by 7:00. This was in October so I don't know if that makes any difference (i.e. traffic, etc...) So even if you miss that super early first bus, you should be fine for your plans.

The delay isn't the bus, it's security at MK. The one day I RD MK at the beginning of October, the wait at MK security was longer than the wait at TSA at MCO. If you're ok being in line still at 8:30, you could probably wait until 7:30 and still get in and get the rides you want before 9am general open.

When are you starting and stopping the clock. It's still five minutes from the tapstiles to the bus stop, call it 15 on the bus, depends on how long your waiting at the stop. 45 is probably in the right area.

Good point that security is its own beast. Based on your estimate, it sounds like I would need to pad my times a bit more. I'm starting the clock from the bus stop wait and ending when I've gone through security and are waiting in "holding area" to enter the park.

The first bus usually leaves the resort between 60 and 75 minutes before early entry begins. If you want to be first through the turnstiles, you want to catch this bus. There will be at least 1 or 2 more busses later that still make it to the park before the gates open, but you'll be further back in line at the gates.

Google Maps has Disney transportation information. You can plan your journey with it and get a rough estimate of travel time.

This is good reassurance because there's no way we're making it out the door on time haha. I'm impressed with your rope drop dedication :)

If you only knew but it was also only my adult son & I on that trip so not trying to wrangle many people or little ones!!! It was a quick trip that I realized is definitely *not* my ideal trip length. LOL! :rotfl2: I'm glad I made notes though because I have learned it is helpful for later on & glad to share.
