Project Runway

Ashley's collection was horrible. Her models just did not look good. Those outfits were not flattering at all, except for the teal dress which was very pretty, and her headpieces were tacky. I turned the tv off with the distinct impression that Project Runway was trying too hard to make a statement by picking the plus size collection over the best collection.
I SO agree with this....not flattering AT all for plus size girls

OMG. I just looked at Swapnil's collection. That would have blown everyone else out of the water!

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm not surprised. He had it in him, it was obvious. He just shot himself in the foot trying to stay in the middle of the pack.[/QUOTE]

He was lazy.

Didn't care for Swapnil's collection. That nose ring makes it look like he mined the cast of Dune for his models.

Agree.

I'm curious to see the interaction between Tim and Swapnil next week. I really like both of them. Tim was clearly aggravated by Swapnil, but imho I don't think this show was the right avenue for him. He didn't thrive in this environment.

I forgot there was a reunion!
Did any of you think the last scene with Ashley and Kelly was a REshoot??

Kelly seemed weepy- like she KNEW she had lost!!!!!!

Maybe it was a reshoot after all of the camerapeople yelled "Are you kidding me? Kelly should win!" lol

That has been a problem for PR in the past--they seem to decide who they want to have win, and go with it. Who was it that had the hideous prairie style clothing a few years back? You could tell she was going to win, even though she was not the most talented by far.

That was the "fabulous" Gretchen. Seemed like a very unpleasant person who designed hideous clothing to me.

Swapnil's collection was better than any of the final four IMO. Wonder if he had more time since he was already out of the competition -- and where he produced it at? Wonder if they provided him housing rather than allowing him to work at home?

cabanafrau-since it happens every year-the final 6 KNOW they will show collections( and the reason is the show is halfway when New York Fashion week happens-and they don't want anyone to know who the final 3-4 are)....I don't think the 2 kicked off get as much $$ tho

I watch every season and understand that. Obviously once you are auf'd you can at least start sketching, but I'm wondering if you can set to work more than that at that point? If Swapnil was allowed to head home and use his employees to assist it's obviously a boost to his collection as well. I'm simply wondering how much restriction is placed on the decoy designers?

ETA: That's actually a decent strategy if you already have a design company up and running. Try to land in one of the decoy spots so that you can show at fashion week for the promotional aspect without having PR have any further say about what you can and cannot do going forward.

good point!!
I remember one of the VERY early seasons-the Mom with 4 kids-redhead...and other finalists kept saying she HAD to have had help with her intricate beading etc

What the heck was on Swapnil's ear? Was it a hearing aid or decoration? Kept bugging me. ..lol

Pretty sure it was decoration.

Holy cat fight. They are mean girls and like true mean girls it was everyone else not them.

It looked like it was pinning his ear back on his head. I was not the biggest fan of his looks, but he did some nice work, but honestly the whole cop out that because he was not getting the praise he deserved he lost his confidence. Just sounded like a fishing expedition for compliments.

Especially when his strategy was to float in the middle until he had to start winning...he wasn't even doing his best work.
