This is just so disappointing. Mondo was CLEARLY the winner. His collection was interesting and fun. Gretchen and Andy bored me to tears (and Andy gets away with a one color show after Michael C gets booted for the same thing??")

This is just a joke. Gretchen makes clothes that look like bag lady clothes or drum-circle, pachoolie smelling hippy chick clothes. Yuck.

As I was watching the collections, I thought, "Sorry, Andy, you can't win. I like your collection - that's the kiss of death." "Gretchen, I think you've got it. Except for your second dress, there's nothing in your collection that I like."

And I was right. (I really didn't think this was Mondo's best work in any event.)

One thing I don't get (OK, there's more than one, but I don't want this post to get too long! ) The pants that Gretchen made that Michael and Nina loved - really? You mean women actually want to wear something that draws attention to their inner thighs???

No question that Mondo should have won based on the season's work. But I don't really feel too bad for him; he'll work. Look at Chris (the costume designer) who now designs for Meryl Streep. I'm not sure he would have had that opportunity had he won.

Sad Mondo didn't win. I did think his collection was not some of his best work, but based on the season he rocks. I have a hard time with Gretchen winning because so many times she was almost booted. I loved some of Andy's pieces.

Oh well, on to next season.

I agree, I liked several of Andy's looks but that does mean the judges won't. There were things I did like about Mundo's collection but the ones I hated most : the skull shirt and the tent dress in multiple colors were the favorites. I just didn't think that Mundo's collection was all great. I probably would have picked Andy because I hated Gretchen's shorts, really would anyone wear them in public? I thought it was funny that it was so obvious that Heidi wanted Mundo to win. I bet that was a long discussion. To sad they couldn't all win. I would have liked to see Micheal's collection now.

Wow, should have seen that coming. Gretchen has gotten the most face time and the judges (some of them) liked her stuff from the beginning. I thought her stuff was awfuland was disappointed when she made the final three. Everything she made reminded me of stuff from the 60's down to the earth tone colors. There wasn't one thing of her collection that I liked. I think that Mondos clothes were the most "fashion forward" of the bunch.

I was very disappointed that Gretchen won Project Runway. Michael Kors and Nina Garcia praised Mondo time and time again for his designs and then turned on him last night. When I saw that first outfit of Gretchen's with the grandma panties, I thought she didn't have a chance. I couldn't have been more wrong. I don't get it. I will never get it. Mondo was robbed.

Michael C would've done a better collection than Gretchen.


Oh and who else LOVED seeing April TURN on Gretchen during the reunion!! Talking about how two faced and "wtchy" she was. "We LIVED with her". So illuminating no?

I am still dissapointed about this. Most seasons I've agreed with the winner. Season 1 I was all about Jay, Season 2 Well I actually wanted Santino but Chloe's was lovely, Season 3 that was a hard one I like Jeffrey's stuff but Laura had a lovely collection too, Season 4 Christian allll the way!, Season 5 Leanne Definetley deserved it her wavey look was really nice, Season 6 I didn't care for the cast but Irina was pretty good. Season 7 Seth Aaron was an obvious choice...but season 8 here is my problem the winner should have been Mondo or Michael C. Grrrrr Gretchen had the worst collection I've seen in all the seasons really... what a shame.

I need to go watch the reunion now!

Today I caught up with the last two episodes which I'd recorded. Michael Costello's reaction when he got eliminated really touched me. When he explained that he didn't mind for him, but how he was going to deal with his parents-that they'd probably say that now he should just give this foolishness up, move back home, get married again, and "I just can't go back to that", he was crying-he was so sad. I really felt for him. I wondered, "Do parents know how important it is for their children to follow their dreams? Do they really want to put that much pressure on their kids?"

I thought the judging this whole season was weird. They turned on Mondo in the finale. They turned on April on the week she was eliminated...she was safe or top 3 for weeks doing the same thing and then all of a sudden she was one note. Last season they got on Anthony for not knowing about fabric but it was ok for Micheal C not to be able to tell the difference between chiffon & jersey. Michael C was eliminated for having a monochromatic palette. Gretchen won with a monochromatic palette. I also thought her collection had whiffs of April's designs - she used those panty/boy shorts in a couple of looks and at least one had a shoulder cut out. And Gretchen wore a chiffon skirt with boy shorts whatever was reminiscent of April as well.

The "reunion" if that's what they want to call it was a huge waste of time. It was just an opportunity to heap more love on Gretchen. Gees, she called Micheal an idiot on national television and even he was like "no, no, Gretchen is a good person."

Thats because its a TV show and everything is edited, we have no idea who any of these peope really are or what they are really like in real life. We only know what PR has shown us

I know that and they create characters of sorts to keep the show interesting. But why go to all that trouble to make her out to be the bad guy during the season and then not address it at all during the reunion? She dissed almost everyones design, aesthetic or skills but they didn't show anyone responding to that. It looked like April & Ivy wanted to say something and perhaps they did in the studio, but it didn't make it to the program. I don't know, I just found it very frustrating.

Didn't they address some of it? I thought I remembered them mentioning something and then she had to defend herself as a confident woman? I assume they have to edit things for time reasons, especially of they wanted to a little about the other finalists. I could be wriong, I watched on DVR so I pretty much FF thru all that stuff to watch the runway show

They spent about a minute on it. Christopher said he gets asked questions about the other designers, one of them being "Is Gretchen really a B?" So Heidi asked Gretchen how she felt about that. G replied that "the funny answer is that she is not one but plays one on TV" and went on to say that strong confident women are portrayed this way and that she only talked about the work, never the person. They flashed to Ivy shaking her head about that and when Heidi asked why, Ivy said "It's a lie. We lived with her." April said something in support of that but I don't remember what. Then they changed the topic.

In the past, there were hour long reunions so there would have been time to address a lot of issues that came up. The controversy with Michael C and the tape. That atrocious team challenge in the beginning with Team Lux. Those are the types of things they used to address. This was a big nothing.

Clearly, I am over thinking this and it's probably a good thing the season is over.

Seasons 2 and 4 were my favorites. I wish they had those online somewhere so I could watch them again!

They are available on DVD. You can rent them from Blockbuster (at least the online Blockbuster....don't know if the local store would have them).
