What did you take a picture of today? :goodvibes

****************************************

It is early so I am not sure what today's picture will be. I have been taking some "stock" pictures and may use one of those. The other day I took one of my background picture on this computer - it's Lilo & Stitch on a hammock. One day I'll also take one of the DIS home page and of another site I visit frequently (Two Peas) since I am on them both so often.

I also want to take pictures of every room of the house and how they look now, the view from our front and back door, photo of the the front of our house, my mini van, my kids feet! :) I am trying to think of all the things I want to document and not just the things that "happen" - kwim?

Have a good day! :)

THIS in my front yard -

The beginning of searching for why my basement flooded and developed mold.

Mine is of DS holding his sippy cup in his feet and drinking from it! :lmao:

Toads?! Really, i did not think you were going to say that!

Yup. The man has one of the cameras built into a long cable. Kinda like what they use for exploratory surgery only on a larger scale. He cut a hole in the drainage pipe and put that in to see if there was a problem. 63 feet in towards my house, gravel. There shouldn't be gravel INSIDE the pipe. He said he followed a critter the whole way to the gravel and then when it got to the gravel it came back at him. A toad. Looking into the drain pipes in the window wells of the basement - more toads. Lots of toads. Big toads, smaller toads. Toads. Unfortunately, they aren't the problem. The gravel in the pipes is the problem. There is no way of knowing if the gravel -right next to the house - UNDER my porch [guess what has to happen to my beautiful porch?]-is the only blockage - he will then see if can see anything else in the footer pipe that runs around the house - UNDER my porch. I ain't a happy camper. Mostly because this means we can't a new dog until all that is done. The fence will most likely have to be removed in a section and the porch is part of the backyard containment system. :rotfl2: Sounds fancy don't it? So until I can get the porch back with the railings up and gates working - no puppy. :sad1:

Inspired by aroyer's "essentials", I took a picture of one of mine & DH's favorite "treats"--our Route 44 drinks from Sonic! His is Diet Coke with Cranberry and mine is sweet tea. Yep, 44 oz of sweet tea goodness!!

TOADS!! WOW!! Do you see them, or are they only in the pipe? That is about the strangest thing I've heard!

So sorry about your beautiful porch!! Did they give you an idea of how long it will be for the repairs? Hopefully they can move fast! It's going to be porch season soon!

A PUPPY!! What fun!! Can't wait to see those pics!

My pic was a boy and his dog. It was a nice afternoon, and DS20 took the yellow princess out to play ball. She could play ball all day, her mama was the same way. She was suffereing by the evening though, just about stuck on the floor, her butt and legs were so sore!

We see the toads in the window wells all the time in the summer. The babies are adorable. They are super tiny when they start out. Just never thought about WHERE they went in the winter. Didn't know they were making condos under my basement. We never capped the pipe because we didn't want them to die in there in the summer and wouldn't think about it in the winter. Bad us, I know.

The porch demolition and digging should be done today. Then we need to see if there is more damage in the footer drains. Will it require digging a trench around my whole house, under my wrap-around-porch. DH is really not liking me at this moment. I wanted it to wrap around the whole house. Not just front & back like normal people.

So maybe a fall puppy so I can spend the winter freezing my tush off with the house training. :rotfl2:

that is just something AWM. you can see them in the windows wells. ds would love that. poor things are making condos under your basement!!!!:lmao:
hope it all works out, and you get your puppy in the fall.

My DD loves toads and frogs and other critters. She would have wanted to bring them all in the house and keep them in an aquarium!!

I ended up taking a photos of the pancakes I made for dinner.... after all, it was National Pancake day! Did anyone get the free pancakes that IHOP was offering? We didn't because we don't have an IHOP near us, but we did it a few years ago when we were away visiting family. It was fun and nice to get a hot meal for the kids and only pay for coffee and juice!..........P
