I saw several posts recommending a poll, so here it is.....

I for one don't know how I afford my DVC being a single parent - but it's my drug of choice - LOL...... have fun with the poll,,,,

Please, I hope this poll doesn't offend anyone.

OK, I'll bite (since, eons ago, I was the OP on the original "Profile" thread, which resurrects itself periodically.)

I *had* to put "hiding from spouse," just because I do keep sort of a DVC "slush fund" that is earmarked just for vacations in general and Disney in particular.

Truthfully, we are indeed married, 35K +, with kids, and this poll is non-specific enough that I can still be oblique as to income (Uncle Sam may be watching, y'know! ;)

Not at all offended!

Married with 5 grown kids (second marriage, 3 his, 2 mine) and a granddaughter.

The kids are all on their own, as are we.

Almost no financial responsibilities left (DH youngest is 18 in July and refuses to go to college).

DVC is for us!

I am not offended, but I would never in a million years post my annual income on an internet board! I rarely share this information with close personal friends; I certainly would never feel inclined, or see the need, to post it on the internet! But that is just me. Maybe I am old fashioned, but I am constantly amazed at the personal information some people will post on the internet. Go read the Community Board--it is mind boggling some of the very personal info people feel inclined to post.

I have to be honest with you the $35,000 level is a little low don't you think for DVC members?? I mean you can barely feed yourself on that much I would think, let alone vacation at WDW or buy into DVC. Of course I live in CT, where like NY the government takes a lot more of our wages and the cost of living is higher than most states. We are well into the 6 figure income and I remember when we made far less than we do now. It was difficult then, but I can not remember when we made $35,000. God Bless those of you that manage on that much per year if there are any out there that are members.

I don't see how answering this particular poll is posting your income on the internet, Dee. I answered the poll, but it in no way says how much our income is or who answered which question.

I agree, Pa@OKW, it does seem low to me too.

Sorry, I don't trust things like this. It never ceases to amaze me the info that can be gotten about a person via their computer just from innocent vists to sites, different posts/polls etc. Like I said, call me old fashioned but I never post or enter anything on a computer that I would not like shared with the world. I am also someone that buys almost nothing off the net, will only enter CC info if it absolutely the only way to buy something (ex: airline tickets), will not pay bills over the net, etc. I am probably overly cautious but I have a co worker that had major identity theft as a result of the internet, ever since then I am very careful.

Dee, There are many people that feel that way. I do EVERYTHING on the net...banking, buying, selling...If it happens it happens!!!! Kinda like flying....If your time's up.......

Answering this pole with income levels so low, is not telling anyone anything. And I'm not offended. I don't mind telling our exact income, what's the difference. We don't do anything illegal and we file taxes for that same amount.

I agree with pa@okw...If you own at the $35,000 level you are great with finances!!! Here's to you!!

This is somewhat off topic of the OP but feel it is beneficial to members. Certainly everyone has to do what they feel they are comfortable sharing, but as Deemarch said if you live in the USA today and buy anything with credit whether it is over the Internet or at your local store your idenity can be stolen. Or even from your local insurance agency. So I guess my point is unless you are a hermit that never leaves home and never spends any money, no one knows your SS # but you and the goverment, then the Internet is as safe as anywhere these days.

As an FBI agent told a friend of mine that did have his idenity stolen. Once you share your information with "anyone", you have shared it with "everyone".

My parents have our DVC and very generously share it with the children.

I agreee 100%.::yes::

Married with two kids and in the majority, barely:teeth:

We are a 2 income family, DW homeschools our kids and does bookeeping part time at home. I am a bldg. contractor/carpenter. We purchased DVC by doing side jobs on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. It is worth it cause we have gotten some great vacations out of it.
