Professional Internship - Management

Hey! I recently applied for a Management Internship, as well as an Alumni-Only internship. After scheduling my automatic phone interview for the Alumni-Only, I received this email...

"Thank you for your interest in Disney Professional or Management Internships. Based on the content of your resume and/or application, we have identified you as a strong candidate, and would like to invite you to complete an initial phone screen."

My question is, did anyone else/ everyone else that applied for Management receive this email?

I didn't get the email, but I have had my initial screening. While having the initial screening the interviewer asked if I was going to apply for any other positions. Although I told her I wasn't she said if I changed my mind to call up the number and see if I need to do another interview (though she said that would be rare). They might need to ask you a few other questions with a management focus, so I'd just call them up and check it out.

Well when I called them back, they said that since I already had my initial screening scheduled, that it would count for both. So you only applied to one? Was it for Management?

I applied for alumni-only internships in the college & int'l programs department since those are closely related to my career goals and educational experiences. I thought about going for management (I'd do operations since I have the most experience there and the most information about those PI's), but I think I've decided against it. It just doesn't fit where I want to go in my life anymore, though it would be super fun I'm sure.

Makes sense! I applied for the Entertainment Management because that's the closest to my field, as well as my history as a CP! So I guess we'll see haha...

Yeah most people get that e-mail if they're in good rehire status. I went through the process last semester and here's how it went:

Applied, screening interview.
Strong candidate e-mail
>>If you're at WDW you have an meeting with your GSO and they have to recommend you. If you're at home you should tell your leaders that you've applied so they can vouch for you.
E-mail to set up next round interview
In person interview if in WDW/ over phone if you're out of state
The next week accept/decline.

It's pretty competitive so be prepared. When I went for my in person (3rd round) interview there were literally hundreds of people there for like 5 positions. They had at least a dozen conference rooms all filled and people coming in every half hour, for 2 days, in addition to phone interviews.
