I was wondering if anyone had done any of the costume professional internships? If so what did you do while on it, would you recommend it, and any suggestions to someone interested in it? Thanks!

My niece did the regular college program in costuming. She technically did it after graduating from college. She came home after graduation, enrolled in some courses in community college (non-matric.) so that she could be considered a student. She was fortunate and persistent enough that after the program she was hired full time in costuming at Disney. Never even came home after the CP ended. She did mostly work with the Cruise ships, but now is back at DHS and can sometimes be seen on the back stage tour! She's not making alot of money, thats for sure, but is living her dream!

Thanks, I'm doing the CP in costuming this Spring an really want to go on to do a Professional Internship after and maybe work at Disney later. I'm glad to hear she liked it enough to want to work with it afterwards though, cause I would love to do that.

Best of luck to you! :thumbsup2 During her CP, she was at DHS the whole time (even going up to the top of the Fantasmic "volcano-thing" when she was there for a bit helping dress the characters during the show! very cool!). She made great contacts and her boss loved her, which I'm sure helped the most in getting full time employment.

Has anyone worked for the costuming department? As part of the IE department or otherwise

:):)My daughter did a PI in the IE dept in Fall 2011 and a PI in Costuming in Fall 2012. She did alot of scanning of costumes for inventory purpose and worked on a costume checking system program as well. She loved being an IE in costuming.:)
