Judy please don't take this as against you, you asked a question that hit a sore spot with some. And as you know we are good at letting you know how we feel. Whatever you choose to do we still are sending you :goodvibes.

I noticed when people ask about this all of a sudden we have a newbie with the phone #, makes me wonder if there isn't a bit of self promotion going on here.

You go Auntie:thumbsup2.... I love this thread:rotfl2:. I have brought up this problem with the pressure washers many other times and got so-called yelled at by many other dis boarders. I attract these detail companies like flies for some reason. It doesnt fail that every Sat. morning at the fort I have one on each side of me by 8am. The fort is a resort. There is nothing in writing that says you must go to a park everyday and leave the fort to vendors. This service should be banned. I lived up north, I know what road salt looks like and does to you rig. If you spend the 100's of thousands of dollars for it in the first place, I would be washing it the first chance I got as soon as I was out of the bad weather not at your final desitnation at the fort. The fort is not a cheap resort as we all know, and God knows how some people stay there for months $$$...yikes. Being that I live in FL, the fort is the only place in this state where we can feel like we are not in FL and can enjoy one of the nicest RESORTS a RVer can get. I'll never complain about the loud kids, the occasional barking dog or even the loud drunk, this place is for all them and they paid to enjoy, but the vendors need to go. I probably just stirred a HUGE pot but come on, fair is fair, let us relax at the magical place on earth as they say. If we wanted to hear pressure washers, I would stay at the KOA in Kissimmee for a hell of a lot less and more anoying noises than just pressure washers. Disney has to have theirs hands in it or they would let you bucket wash at your site which I think would be acceptable if you must wash your rig

Thank you starbuc!!!! could not have said it any better!!!! I wonder how long the people at the GF would put up with this bull sh*t at $300- $500 a night not long I am sure!!! And yes I will be at the front desk every day of my stay complaning, As from where I come from squeaky wheel gets the grease, and the last mouse gets the cheese, (sorry Mickey) All we ask for is a little recspect nothing more..... at $75-$110 a night I think I payed for it after a 1400 mile ride!

We used to call em cricket campers. :) Now I am one. :woohoo:

I hope y'all can forgive the rest of us for preferring to hire a pro and their crew to get it done in a couple of hours while we enjoy our vacations, instead of spending 4 hours or more washing and buffing and waxing ourselves.

Does anyone have the contact info for the detail guys?

First,,I have NEVER HEARD a cricket that loud and obnoxious .

And NO I CAN'T FORGIVE YOU ! Why should we have to forgive you because YOU KNOW it's annoying to others BUT you are gonna do it anyways for your own selfish resasons,,even if it does ruin someones elses ,hard earned, short vacation time at the Fort !?!?!?!
SELFISH, I TELL YOU ! SIMPLY SELFISH !!

Second, it's usually not just a couple hours,, they make it a all day affair. Oh sure, YOUR camper will only take a FEW hours. Thats not inconsiderate at all !!! But when they do the next camper,,is that the inconsiderate guy ??? Come on give me a break ! Who are you try to convince that it's okay with other campers ,,yourself ?!?! Well apparently you succeeded, cause your ask'n for the phone number !
I figure the least you could do is look the number up yourself,, but hey, guess you can't even do that for yourself !

Third,,I say to you,,Why can't you take the time to be more respectful of others and have your camper cleaned at a truck wash before hitt'n the Fort ??? People do it all the time !! Oh ,How silly of me !! That would take away from YOUR time at the Fort !!What was I thinking !!

I hope y'all can forgive the rest of us for preferring NOT to hire a pro and their crew to come to the Fort and get it done in a couple of hours while we enjoy our vacations, instead of spending 4 hours or more washing and buffing and waxing ourselves.

Anyway, god bless all of y'all.

Hey Frank,

Could you be a little more direct and to the point? You appear to be on the fence on this issue. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Way to go Frank. I think you summarized what alot of us are feeling.

Thanks for all the information, I'm glad I asked. I saw the detailers around and thought it would be nice to get the camper cleaner, but I agree that this is not what Disney is all about. We have never used a truck wash before, but really need to get the camper clean. We are going to be in the St. Pete area for a few days before going to FW. Does anyone have a favorite place to wash the camper on the way down or between St. Pete and Orlando? How do you use a truck wash (do you need a ladder)?":confused3

:rolleyes1 One that talks to himself too. :hyper2:

There is plenty of room as you enter the Fort, on the right, over by the maintenance buildings for an RV wash area. I would gladly pay for a space to wash my rig on the way in. I dont want a power washer, just a place with a hose and room for my bucket and wash brush. In December we had salty roads almost all the way to Atlanta, that sale covered trailer in the 70 degree weather means a whole lotta rust.

Ya'll are pretty smart. Not really. I actually have been lurking around here for over 5 years. I got a user name recently when I bought my E-Ticket app for my iphone. See, we're going to FW this Friday and we're all kind of excited. The Amazing Detail phone number came from you folks - from a thread about a year ago. Back then, you all recommended them and I filed the info away into my iphone. Didn't mean to intrude. I just saw "Bless your heart" and had a good laugh. We all know that's southern for "you dumb sob". But thanks again for the warm welcome. I wasn't planning on getting my coach washed and waxed, but if you're going to be in the 800 loop next week, i might change my mind.

(Sorry Frank, :sad2: I tried...it just wasn't workin' for me more anymore.)

Okay...I thought better of those sentiments. Not that there are better sentiments..just about putting it in print.

Thats incorrect,,"WE" didn't recommend ANYONE about a year ago, or other wise,,,that was a inconsiderate idiot who doesnt post here (cept to cause problems) that posted that number. In fact I'm not sure they even camp.:confused3

Boy - I don't sign on for a few days then I come back to discover this discussion on my biggest FW pet peave!:headache: About 1/2 of our time at Disney/FW is spent as a "camp day". And we look forward to that time probably more than hitting the parks. But according to one pp, I should change my plans if he/she chooses to be intrusive. Yes, the noise is annoying...but so is the overspray. There is nothing like sitting outside eating a late pancake breakfast while getting a steady mist of water in your face. But appearantly, this is my fault for waking up late and daring to eat outside. Sorry...but I just don't understand how this wouldn't bother everyone.

btw...isn't it against the rules at the fort to run your generator? Something about the noise.....? I just don't get it. :confused3

I'm sure ya'll are very excited as it is such a wonderful place to be. You and your family will have such a great time and will look forward to going back time after time....as we all do. So, while you are there enjoying the absolute bliss that is Fort Wilderness, look around for one of the mobile detailers. When you find them, you will thank your lucky stars they are not in the site next to yours, intruding on the short period of expensive time you have to enjoy yourself.

Absolutely no sarcasm here....hope you and yours have a great trip! Wish we were so lucky! 10 more months for us...seems like forever!

So if some one says "bless your heart" they really mean something else??

There's a kid at work that says it all the time. And it confuses the hell out of me. But he also says he's mormon and goes to church. So I didn't know what to think of it.

I'm really sorry I brought up a subject that put some Dismembers in such a foul mood.
I guess the next step would be suggestions of where to wash your RV before getting to the fort.:dance3:
I hope everyone still has a great time at the fort!:)
