Hi - after we get our bags and head to Nationals car rental...I have a few questions....

1. If we're part of Emer. Aisle - do we bypass the counter and go to the kiosk? Where are the Kiosks located? Inside or outside?

2. If we're using a coupon to do have to do a counter service chk in?

3. Can my husband pick out the minivan we rented while I chk in...or specifically - pick out the minivan before I complete chk in?

Any other advice I should know of for car rental at National? Thanks ;)

1. If we're part of Emer. Aisle - do we bypass the counter and go to the kiosk? Where are the Kiosks located? Inside or outside? If you reserved using your Emerald Club membership, you simply go straight to the cars and pick your car. You don't actually talk to anyone until you pull up to the exit booth

2. If we're using a coupon to do have to do a counter service chk in? nope, just hand the coupon to the gate attendant

3. Can my husband pick out the minivan we rented while I chk in...or specifically - pick out the minivan before I complete chk in? pick it out together. If you use Emerald Club, you will get service called Emerald Reserve. Simply walk to the mini-van aisle and make your choice

Any other advice I should know of for car rental at National? Thanks ;)
I love Emerald Club and National. The process is so easy. I love getting to the garage, picking my car, and heading for the exit booth... nothing simpler.

Holy Cow! That's so easy...I had no idea! Will EA cars be indicated or marked clearly for us to pick a minivan from? Thank you!

Each Aisle is clearly marked. You say EA. That means Emerald Aisle and there is an Emerald Aisle. That is for people who have Emerald Club and reserve a mid-size car. When you go that route, you simply pick any car from that aisle... there can be upgrades there, but no guarantees. If you specifically reserve a minivan, your reservation will say Emerald Reserve and you choose any minivan from the minivan row.

You will be choosing from the same aisles as everyone else, the Emerald Club part is that part that allows you to skip the counter and go straight to the garage. Just make sure to reserve online while logged into your account. Your reservation will say "Emerald Reserve" if you reserve a minivan. If you go the Emerald Aisle route, your reservation will say "aisle". People who don't have Emerald Club will say "Counter Service" on their reservation.

Ah - ok. Thanks Duds. Yes - it's Emerald Club we signed up for. Thanks for letting me know there is a difference. The rental process is still the same? We have all our info and our Emerald Club info linked to our minivan reservation, so we still proceed to the minivans (and bypass the counter and kiosk), as stated before? Thanks for your information - it's much appreciated!

Yep... it is that easy! My first time with National I was a bit nervous... I was worried if it was really that easy. Now I can't believe I rented a car any other way. I always try to use Alamo (which offers online check in or kiosks to speed up the process) or National with Emerald Club. They are the same company, so you get to choose your car.... I love it!
