Need some advice:
I booked my ressie at CR for early Feb a few months back. I did room-only (wing room) because I was told the package prices wouldn't be out for a few more months. I want to switch to a package with tickets and the dining plan.
When I called to switch to a package, I was told that at this time only tower rooms and concierge were avail for packages. He wasn't sure if rooms were gradually released for packages or not. This is early Feb, so I know they are all booked. Anyway, I was really excited to do the dining plan, because it will save us money on our trip, but to upgrade the room to get it will cost us $700 more for the 6 night trip. This is $700 more - on top of the additional cost of adding the tickets and the dining plan. What should I do? Keep calling and see if a wing room opens up for the MWY packages, or should I forget about doing the dining plan and just buy my tickets separately? help!!

I'm not sure of all the circumstances. Did the CM you talked to fully understand you were trying to get the paid-for dining package and NOT trying to get the free dining package? I know some people who tried to get their ressies switched to the free dining plan, but had to switch resorts or room categories to find rooms available with that package. However, I can't see why they can't simply add the PAID dining plan on to your room ressie. If you haven't already, I'd call CRO back and make sure they understand that you're not trying to get the free dining package, which they should know is no longer available for booking. To me, it seems like they should just be able to book you for the dining plan, no questions asked, especially when it's being paid for.

that's what I thought too...I don't understand why I couldn't turn my existing reservation into a package. I even tried online, as a new reservation, and it would only offer me a package on the tower rooms.

Try again. If you already have a room, adding a package should not be a huge deal -- especially if you are paying for everything inside. If you don't get anywhere ask to speak to a supervisor. This just seems silly.

If you're already holding a room, they can get guest services to turn it into a package for you if it's not available to rebook. I know that happens alot when package promotions come out as I've read it here many times.
