Problems trading ADRs?

I saw on another thread and just had a problem myself with changing the name on reservations. CM claimed that ressies are non-transferable and wouldn't allow the name to be changed on the ADR. Did they just start enforcing this?

Is there any way of getting a paper copy of one's ADRs other than waiting til check-in? Is there any way to print out copies/confirmations from home?

I don't think reservations were ever meant to be transferrable. I thought when people "trade" reservations on this board they just PM the last name and the new family gives that name at check in.

If reservations were transferrable it could potentially be very troublesome. There was an issue with this and CRT a few years back which I had read was the reason that restaurant began to require a deposit with the reservation. A group of self-proclaimed "helpers" would book a large majority of CRT reservations as they became available, and then would pass these reservations out to whomever they felt deserved them the most.

Actually, we were called Howies Angels, and we called and booked for people that were either on West Coast time or people that had difficulty getting an adr for whatever reason. We did not( at least I didn't) book tons of ressies and give them out to "whomever we felt deserved them"

OP: Call back and get a different CM.

I have called and transferred 7 different reservations, at different times, to different DIS "strangers" without any problems.

Don't ask; tell them. "Hi, I would like to transfer my reservation to another party name."

Make sure you have the first/last name of the new folks, their resort name, if they are on DDP and a phone number. That is what I have been asked for.
