I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. :grouphug:

We have sailed with DCL 6 times. When we have had stateroom issues they have always been handled quickly. We, too, sailed the first week of December (on the Magic). The housing for the flush botton on our toilet cracked one day and was unusable. I called maintenance and the button was replaced within an hour. On past cruises I have had to have maintenance come to adjust the thermostat and to deal with a broken television. On each occasion these matters were taken care of quickly and with the service I have come to expect from Disney. Again, I am sorry that you had a bad experience. If you feel you need to sail with another cruiseline then that's up to you, but perhaps DCL is worth another try. I just felt the need to share our very opposite experiences.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. We are getting ready to take our first DCL cruise over spring break in March. Friends of our have taken about four DCL cruises over the years and all had good experiences with the crew, cabins and overall experience.

Disney Will Defiently Not Give You Any Thing For Free, Even If They Are The Ones At Fault. However They Ususally Are Pretty Quick Fixing Gthe Problems

We had a problem with a slow draining tub, but our hostess noticed it while cleaning and she had it fixed before I even had the chance to say something to her.
This is not a perfect world and even Disney is not perfect (although they come pretty close sometimes). Mistakes happen and people make errors. You just have to allow for them to correct it.
Once, in WDW, I requested a second floor corner room. What we got was a first floor corner room. I walked all the way back to the lobby to point out the error and they gave me a new room, a second floor center room. Back to guest services! On the third try I finally got the room I had origionally requested and I also got a big apology. Nothing discounted, nothing free. Sometimes, just fixing the problem in a quick and timely manner is enough. It sucked that I had to keep walking back and forth, but I didn't have to wait in line (got to cut to the front when the CM saw me) and she was super nice and very apologetic.
Another example... Summer vacation witht the parents. Seemed like EVERY ride I got on broke down. I felt cursed! It was HOT, crowded, and my knee was killing me from an auto accident on the way to WDW. Now, all the rides keep breaking down on me. Do I blame Disney? No. Just having a streak of bad luck that day. I do my best to enjoy the experience, have a good laugh and hope that my next trip would be better. Little did I know that my parents decided to dump me at my Aunts house before they head back home. She then informs me that I came at the right time because they were taking a group trip with all my cousins to... you guessed it ...WDW! We had a blast. One of my best trips ever!
Mark it off to one of lifes experiences, plan another trip, even on another cruise line, then compare it to DCL. Most likely, you'll be back!
