Just a warning to others who need utilize special cleaning in the rooms for allergies and breathing problems.

VWL gets a big F.

Called to have things noted on reservation.
Called the day prior to travel to make sure notes were still on ressies (as sometimes they are not entered correctly or disappear).
That CM called the VWL directly to make sure things were noted etc at the resort.
DH called the resort directly to confirm again things were noted day of travel.
I asked if things were done before check-in.

Assigned room not cleaned correctly....
Moved to new room. Cleaned correctly ;)

Last night in room. The last night was a cash night.
Housekeeping came in the room at some point.
They sprayed things I was allergic to in the room, and giving towels that were obviously not cleaned with unscented detergent.

Call to speak with manager. Manager claims nothing was sprayed...given unscented towels...after long battle sends me towels i can use. Still claims nothing sprayed in room. He didn't even think it was in the realm of possibility that his staff had made a mistake.

So if you have allergies to regular cleaners... I would avoid the VWL.
If your a sensitive individual and would be impacted by this then avoid the VWL.
Management doesn't get this issue. They have a problem some place in their staff, and they play the denial game.

I'm just warning others out there that have health issues that are affected by these items.

I had many other issues with the VWL, and had the worse trip ever. It is known as the "trip from hell" as I've described all the stuff that happened.

Could you have laundered the towels yourself in the washing machine? Then you would know exactly what detergent was used.

I am really sorry to hear about this. We had travelled with our little guy and he has medical issues. MS noted things on the reservation and suggested we contact the resort directly as well. We did call VWL. Upon check in, the manager called me over to a chair in the lobby and said at any time if there was an issue to contact them and they would resolve it. I found them to be so helpful and understanding, they were just trying to help in any way they could. Sometimes there just may be a gap in communication, and the workers don't get the message. VWL is really a nice resort, although, I am again sorry you had to go through this.

I was staying in a studio. I got back to my room at 9pm at night, was exhausted. I was not going to haul the resorts towels to the laundry and wash them myself, that is ridiculous. It does not address the issue about the cleaning products sprayed in the room.

Its another story if I was in a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom with a washing machine. That is an easy fix, if you have detergent with you.

If the last night was a cash night I would suspect that the cleaning products and towels were not noted for housekeeping that it was a continuing reservation. Sorry you had such a miserable trip.

Agree, a studio makes it more difficult.

Actually you are incorrect. The notes were put in both reservations. I mentioned to the house keeping manager about the cash reservation the last night. I mentioned it as well on check-in.

When i had a discussion with the manager the last night on the phone. He was telling me things were noted on my reservation. He told me nothing was sprayed in my room. However, he was incorrect. Part of my frustration with VWL management is there denial that things were sprayed in the room. I'm having breathing issues and he's telling me nothing was sprayed. Since I'm assuming the room was cleaned in the morning or afternoon, the cleaning person wouldn't have even been around to ask at 9pm at night.

disneynutz thanks for the emails to dvc. I'm still working on that email as other things occured during my trip at the resort too.

I also spoke with at length to members services today. I understand that members services is not to blame but the resort. However, they connected to the resort and they are still singing the same tune, that things were done correctly. Which unfortunately means they don't get the point. House keeping isn't keeping rooms safe for allergy sensitive folks at VWL.

Sorry you had these problems, and do agree you should take it up with MS.

With that said, only once in umpteen trips at VWL have we had issue with Mousekeeping. We were told our room was ready, got there and you could tell things werent complete. Trash hadnt been emptied, toiletries and towels not there yet, floors needed vacuuming. Beds had been made, towel critters in place, stuff put in its proper placement before move in, etc. So we called mousekeeping and it was quickly resolved.

Other than the normal call for a specific need(more towels, etc.)and at times that can take awhile, but it depends on time of day we call, we tend to have very good service there. But that is true of all the resorts we have stayed in at WDW.

Again, sorry you had issues. Hoping your next DVC stay makes up for it!

Just a couple of thoughts, a problem like yours is not unique to VWL and it can happen at any resort. There has always been a disconnect between the Front Desk and Mousekeeping and Engineering.

Talking to MS, a reservations agent isn't going to help much. Member Satisfaction, the email address I posted has the job and ability to do more to address the problems. They also report to Disney upper management. In your email explain what happened, provide your phone number and member number and they will call you in a couple of days.
