I ordered a gift for my Dad online 1 1/2 weeks ago. When I ordered the item was in stock. Tonight I receive an email saying the item is out of stock and will ship late December. Late December could be December 31st! They have already charged my CC.
I thought I was done with shopping! What should I do? I tried to call, but they closed at 11 pm est. I called at 11:01.
I am a little peeved that they charged my card when they haven't even shipped my item and it is not available. I have already mailed my Mom's and Brother's gifts to my parents house.
I guess I just needed to vent. I guess I am mostly that they charged my card 4 days ago. And I just receved the email today.

Bless her heart, she was so upset about this. She told me what happened, and frankly, I'm thrilled that I'm getting the books! I sure don't mind that they are coming two weeks late at all! I would recommend giving your Dad a nice card explaining that the gift you ordered for him was backordered and will arrive in a few days. In addition to the card, get him a small token gift, such as a box of his favorite candy, that way he has something to open on Christmas Day. I'm sure he'll understand!
