:bounce: posted this on the budget board but thought you guys may have the answer

just made my reservations for April. April 4 & 4th checking out the 5th at Pop Century. On April 5th checking into Carribean Beach until the 7th. 3 phone calls later (cause I kept getting disconnected) I was told that I could just carry one over to the other, that way I wouldn't have to pay 2 deposits for both the place, (the first operator told me that). By the 3rd operator I was told that it was 2 separate reservations and I would have to pay for 2 separate deposits.

No Annual Passes yet for April only through Feb. and to use the Dream Maker promotion you have to stay at the same hotel the whole time. Any suggestons, peeps, thanks

Are you a AAA member? You should be able to get roughly 20% off of rack rate.

Yes, because you are staying at 2 different resorts it is considered 2 different reservations and you will need 2 deposits.

Yes, it is 2 reservations. Because it is peak season, I don't think there will be any AP rates. Don't know about the AAA discount. Do they offer that all the time or are there blackout dates as well?

As I posted on the other board..I had a ressie at AllStars, and Pop. and we only had to have one deposit. Both ressie's were in the same envy..one had one night listed as a deposit, and the other said zero. We then changed our first few nights to Pop also, altough using AP rate (we couldn't get the whole time with AP), and although she said we would have to update our ID's, as it was two ressie's, they still only charged me the one deposit. Prob depends on who you get.

thanks I thought I read it somewhere. I have to pay the deposit by Jan 3rd so maybe I will either call back and balk or let it go and do it again, hoping I get someone else. Also I do have AAA and forgot about that when I was making the reservations. It was yesterday afternoon and I was trying to multi-task which I don't do very well. Thanks for your input.

Were you making your reservation through Walt Disney Travel Company or Central Reservations? If it's through WDTC, both resorts can go on the same ressie. (I have one for myself like that!)

If it's Central Res, it will be two separate reservations and two deposits.

No difference in price between the two, it's a difference in cancellation/payment terms and conditions.

Although, they've got a new computer system that is supposedly merging the two of them together, and when you book a package, you'll be getting the Walt Disney Travel Company terms, and with a room only reservation, you'll be getting CRO terms.

Here's a couple of links to hopefully help you out:

no difference in the total cost except you have to pay at least $200 for deposit and I believe the balance 45( could be 30 can't remember) days before you get there. Cro you just pay 1 night's charge plus tax as deposit and the rest when you get there.. the thing I was going to get through WDT. was a package so I do not know if a "room " only would be the same or if they will even make a room only res.

so is where do I find the # for WDT and can I use AAA with that one and if there are AP privileges for April can I use that also.

Thanks:Pinkbounc :wave2:

when you call the 407"wdisney" number you can ask if it's CRO which they will grudingly say something like "if you want it to be" cause they would *rather* have you go through disney travel and pay more upfront and in advance of arrival. if you are going to book the room only ( no passes or anything )they will put it under CRO still. (A CM told me it will all be disney travel as of last week it isn't ) I do not know about AAA rates with a package but for a room only tell them you want the aaa rate &they will ask you for your AAA number and tell you the rate.the AP rates for April are not out yet so you can book a room now and get the rates when/if they come out. if they are better than the AAA you can change them. usually they will not vounteer information but will tell you if they know* if*you ask. lately a lot do not know much though.

Here's another little loophole to the reservation process with AAA! :)

I don't think you can book a package with a AAA rate through the Travel Center, but you might be able to. It couldn't hurt to call and ask.

If you can't though, go to your local AAA travel office, and they will book you a Disney package, but will give you the AAA rate on the room. It'll save you 15% on the room, but you'll pay full price for your passes.

re: the AAA rates---Are they pretty much 20% below rack rate all seasons, including peak are just value and reg? Any on all resorts or select? Any info would be very much appreciated.

:earseek: :earsgirl: thanks. I got the reservations in the mail today, actually got 3 instead of 2. I had to call 3 times cause kept getting disconnected (cell phone), so it appears they didn't cancel the one from the first phone call which we were almost done, anyway, I want to ask for DWTC when I call right, not CRO, I am booking rooms only but want only 1 deposit for the 2 different resorts and then pay 45 days in full before we leave, that is my understanding, please let me know if that is wrong, actually I have to call them back and get the AAA discount cause I forgot to do that the first time.

Thanks again

i am pretty sure they are like AP rates, a limited amount...for example I wanted to stay at FW and there must have been very limited AP openings cause they were gone the first day the rates were released before CRO opened(?) a Cm told me( right or wrong) that unless otherwise stated all resorts have all discount rates but different amounts of openings and the CMs do not know how many they have.
