Okay all, just checked the Member Website to make sure my newly purchased AKV points are there, but there is something wrong. It's showing all my points a year off. I should with the new purchase have 108 for 2007, 178 for 2008, and the full 290 for 2009. But it's showing 105 for 2007, 108 for 2008 and 178 for 2009. I couldn't even touch 2009 points yet if I wanted to. So who do I talk to about my points being messed up.

:confused3 How many points did you actually buy? Unless you already booked some, which we can't do yet, every year should be the same for AKV. Or you bought multiple contracts with different UY, that may make things show up a little screwy, I can't really figure out what your doing
Call your guide or MS if you have any questions.

Okay, sorry if that was confusing. We bought 105 AKV points last week. For our April 2007 UY we should have still had 3 SSR points. So we should have 108 points now in the April 2007 UY but it's showing 105 points, and 108 for the April 2008 UY. With the addition of our 105 points the April 2008 UY should have the 73 SSR points that were still there plus the AKV points for a total of 178. It just looks like something went screwy. Do I call member services to get this fixed?

Perhaps it has something to do with AKV points. :confused3 I saw this thread and went to check(bought a VB add-on on Sat.) and the points were already showing up. So I double checked 07 UY and everything added up right in my case.

Hi,

The points summary screen is showing a "year behind" for me too. However, when I do a query to look at the detail for a particular use year, the information is correct. :confused3

Just got off the phone with MS and my points are showing right in their system, so I'm not going to worry about it too much.

This problem is being discussed in a couple of other threads. Several people have already reported it to MS. The underlying data is correct, but the software that creates the Summary display has a bug. The display bug only affects members who purchased an add-on at AKV and who are still in their 2006 UY (those with Feb UYs don't see this problem and in just over 2 weeks those with a Mar UY will no longer be affected).

What you are seeing in the Summary display is data for your 2006 UY for your existing contracts combined with 2007 UY data for your AKV add-on in a display block labeled "2007", which I assume it is picking up from the AKV data. The block labeled "2008" is 2007 data for existing contracts combined with 2008 data for AKV, and so on for the remaining UYs displayed.

Thank you for the explanation. I just hope this bug is worked out by the time I make our reservations for the studio in a couple of weeks.

Has anyone heard anything more about this bug in the DVC system? My summary points are still in error so I finally sent an email to member services today to point it out to them again.

Just a guess but I imagine fixing this bug has been labeled as a low priority. The underlying data is correct, it's just the summary display of that data that is incorrect and it only affects the members who added on at AKV and are still in their 2006 UY. Every month that goes by, the problem "self corrects" for those owners who move from their '06 to their '07 UY.

I'm not saying they shouldn't bother fixing it, but I wouldn't expect to see it fixed ASAP. There have been a few other problems reported recently (the online banking bug for one) that seem more critical so I expect they will address those first. In the meantime, the detailed display for each of your contracts should be correct so that's the place to look to check your point status.

Nope, not fixed, and it has me confused. I believe I purchased '07 points as my "current use year" with my add on at AKV, but with it saying 2006, it has me scratching my head a bit. Hopefully it will be all fixed in a couple days once we get to March 1st, and the start of my use year.

Mine is still wrong as well. My AKV points show just fine, but I'm missing 327 points at VWL... :confused3

Since the "enhancements" to the site and all the postings here about the errors I find myself logging in and checking my points 4 times a day to make sure they are accurate...

I have a different problem with "My DVC".............the points are correct for each contract, but for my AKV add-on, in the line for the RESORT NAME, mine says "NULL"! :confused3
Does anyone know where NULL DVC is located? It might be really nice! :rotfl2:

Disney's Null Resort and Spa is their newest DVC property. It will be located right in the middle of Magic Kingdom, in the former Tom Sawyer Island. Along the same line as the Cinderella Castle rehab, DVC will renovate the old shack on the island into a 4 star rustic cabin. You will be surrounded by the trees, water, and woodland animals. The zero entry pool takes you right into the lake. You will be in the middle of all the excitement by day, and at night you can experience the fireworks like no other resort. Your dining options are limitless, just a boat ride away!

Unfortunately, this will be the smallest DVC resort, with only one 2 bedroom Villa. So, you must be very lucky to be among the few owners of this new DVC resort. I am so jealous. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey........since we only need a studio, we're willing to share (if you go "halfies" on points!).:teeth:

I know this is the wrong thread, a bit off topic, but

congratulations to Hollymom and her AKV purchase!!!:cool1:

I don't think Member Services "gets it."

Email I sent to them:
"The summary years online for my points are incorrect since I purchased
Animal Kingdom Villas and those points were added. Everything seems to
be shifted a year. For example, 2009 UY shows points have been borrowed
for BWV and that isn't even possible at this point. I've borrowed 2008
points for a reservation, not 2009."

Response I got this morning:

"From: Disney Vacation Club <members@disneyvacationclub.com>

Thank you for your e-mail.

I have taken a look at my copy of your points and nothing has been
touched on your 2009 Use Year. You are only currently in your 2006 Use
Year. No points have been borrowed from your 2007 Use year for Animal
Kingdom Villas. No points have been borrowed from 2009 Use Year. I do
see that you have borrowed from your 2008 Use Year from the Boardwalk
contract. Remember your account when listed in the web site may show
2008 as 2009-2009 Use year. This is your 2008 Use year."

I have an October UY. Is it just me or does the response not make any sense at all? I said nothing about borrowing points from 2007 for Animal Kingdom Villas in the first place. And what do those last two sentences mean about 2008 UY showing as 2009 online?

The bug you are reporting is in the software that creates the Summary Display on the website. The underlying data is correct. MS doesn't use the same software to look at the data so they don't see the problem. They look up your account info and then respond to your email that everything is fine because from their perspective, it is.

I haven't found a way to reach the web development group directly. I sent email to MS but tried to make it clear that I was reporting a bug with the Points Summary Display on the members' website. I asked them to please forward the information to the group responsible for maintaining the website. Whether they did this or not, I don't know.

I logged in to dvcmember today and saw that our 150 AKV points are showing up for the current use year, which ends in June. We had already used the rest of our points for this year.
It also shows 0 points available to bank and says that these points will expire at the end of May.
As our guide said that the AKV points won't become active until July, when we'll start paying dues, am I right in thinking that the 150 which have appeared for this year are just a computer glitch (because the system has to show them for every year in the system), or are they actual, existing, points to be used by end of May?

Edit: reading the forum, I've seen the difference between developer points and the $8/point credit - we chose the $8/point credit, so, I don't know what these points are doing in my current use year!
