2 contracts 2 different use years

Oh lord theres always something thats why I asked. A million rules, we should just be able to use all our points without all the games. Im wondering if we can just modify tho and reallocate the transferred points first?

No, you can’t. The system is set up to use points in a certain order and that can’t be changed.

The things is that you have multiple memberships which it’s like being different owners.

That is why it’s not simple. I personally have just found that booking on each for trips and then asking them to note has been easier and simplistic.
Well, you can actually but it is a bit tricky. You can do it if you have a bunch of smaller contracts or if you make a dummy reservation and have some extra points..

If you have a number of contracts of various sizes you can select just one or a few of your smaller contracts so it will not have as many banked/borrowed expiring points to use first, so it will use the transferred points. If you don't have this setup, as I'm sure many don't, then you can do it the following way.

Make a dummy reservation that takes up most/all of your banked/borrowed points in your normal contracts (choosing only those contracts and not the transferred contract). Then make your real booking and make your transferred points the first choice on the point allocation. It will take your last few expiring banked/borrowed points if you have any, then your transferred points, then your normal points.

Then you can cancel your dummy reservation to get your banked/borrowed points back if they have a later use year than your transferred points. Just keep in mind that if you modify the real reservation afterward it will reallocate and take up the banked/borrowed points first again.

Its always great to have options, thanks!

Very true…I thought it best to answer it the simple way but someone who wants to do all this, it can work.

You have to have the extra points though and several contracts to make it work.

Something to keep in mind about transferred points. Holding, banked and borrowed points will be taken before transferred points. Then points that are expiring first will be taken. That means that if, for instance, you have a December 2024 UY and an April 2025 UY and you transfer the April points into your December membership, the December 2024 current points will get used before those transferred April 2025 points. Ask me how I know.
Maybe things have changed since you've last done this?
I am able to select the order of which contract is used including transferred points.
What I am not able to select is within the same contract if holding, banked or current points are used first.

The only drawback so to speak that comes to my mind is the transferred points retain their original use year. So a Feb use year transferred into June would still be a Feb use year and may be tricky remembering the cut offs and everything. I don’t think it shows the UY for the transferred points in the new UY anywhere. Just making sure you are on top of it all.

There is only one transfer in and out per membership.
Not super straightforward, but you can keep track by selecting My DVC -> My Vacation Points -> Select membership points that were transferred to and look at the eligible travel dates for the transferred contract.
Beginning month of the eligible travel is the UY.
