Problem at HRH

I had a situation last weekend at HRH. We checked in on Thursday night, got up Friday for a great day at US. Got back to the room about 9:00 and was going to restock the cash for the next day. I had $600 missing, the money was in an envelope in a folder placed inside another folder that was under a sweatshirt in my suitcase. The suitcase was closed but not zipped. We searched the room until about 11:00 and then I contacted the security manager to file a report. I was told that they would look into it and contact me in 10-14 days.
Has anyone had anything like this happen and how did you handle it?

Put your cash in the safe in the closet. have never had anything stolen in last two visits. My daughter even lost her room key and ticket and some nice person turned it in. Things do have and can at any hotel.

I NEVER leave cash sitting around outside of the safe.

Sorry to hear this happened and I wish you luck, but I wouldn't hold my breath on getting it back.

i worked with security over an issue once before.

did you get the incident report #?

have you called security directly since you returned home?

I've never had anything like that happen. We've had very few reports here of stolen items in the rooms. I sure hope it gets resolved to your satisfaction.

I checked with security on Monday before we were about to go to the airport but nothing had been done at that point. I will call back this weekend just to check in.
I NEVER leave cash sitting outside of the safe but as you can see from the signature. We have travel once or twice and have never had anything come up missing. THEY had to go through the suitcase and folder pretty good to find the envelope.
Since we only used the room to sleep and shower, we did not use housekeeping the next two days. We would exchange towels at night when we got back from the park but we did put cell phone chargers and the kids i-pods in the safe for the remaining time.

We stay at the HRH every trip and have never had a problem. We put money and wallets that aren't needed for the parks in the safe. We have left out the phone chargers, Ipods, and ereaders, along with a few bucks on the table in the room and have never had any trouble with anything missing. Good luck with getting this resolved. I am also one that actually still gets travelers checks for the largest part of our spending money but still will have at least $1000 in cash and as I said, have never had any trouble.

I'm pretty sure that they can tell who was in that room while you were at the parks from the keypad info. The only person that should have been there was housekeeping and their records should show that. I would call the hotel manager and make sure that he is informed and keeping on top of the situation.

Please don't ever leave valuables laying around. Always use the safe and double check it before you leave the room. Back when my husband was still smoking, we did not even leave his extra packs of cigarettes laying around.
