Problem applying discount?

Im going to Disney June 13-20 and have a discount through the 15th. I called to apply the summer discount
for the rest of my stay and the CM kept mumbling to himself and trying to figure it all out and told me if
I apply the summer discount I will owe $40 more! I told him I only have a discount through the 15th right?
And he told me yes. I am going to call back and speak to someone else because hes got to be mistaken right? I was counting on saving a little bit at least. Anyone else have this problem? He did say the new discount was out but when I asked what the percentage off was he said he didnt have the info in front of him...

AKL right? Looking at the online system, it shows it as available, all views. Starting at $237 for standard view. Call back.

You'll have to split your stay up into two reservations.

Sounds like he wasn't applying them right. Call back, ask to split your reservation and apply each discount to each section. Or book the back half online and call to shorten the first part.
 
I actually need to change my signature. We went down to Coronado Springs standard room. I called back and I saved $40. He had told me it would be $40 more. So anyway not what I was hoping for at all but I guess its something.
 


I know. Ive been to Disney so many times and never had this problem with a discount. I called twice already. Gonna have to play around with it I guess. I expected to save a couple of hundred. Im pretty frustrated right now. Thanks!
 


No they didnt. They just kept trying to apply the code. Im thinking I may have to call back and request that maybe?

Will I have to redo my dining reservations?
 
No, your dining reservations are fine.

They need to split the reservation. Discounts go off of the check in date. So if a discount starts on Jan 16 but your check in is Jan 13 it won't apply, because to the computer, you're trip is not eligible for that discount.

They need to have one reservation that has a check in for the first discount. And a second reservation with a start date during the second discount to get it to apply for your whole trip. I always have them book before canceling just in case so I don't lose days.
 
I'm staying at WL those same dates and encountered the same issues. I've spoken to two people. The first said the summer discount couldn't be applied because the dates don't completely fall within the discount period. The second said I would need to do two separate reservations, but there aren't any more rooms available at that discount rate. Ugh!!!!!!
 
The second scenario could be an absolute true possibility.

I'd try checking online with the discount, booking, and then calling to shorten your first set if dates to help cut down on the hassle.
