Probably a stupid question, but...

...I've seen that Disney upgrade alot of rooms on arrival for honeymooners - will this be the same for people getting married at Disney? (We'll be staying at the AKL and have already upgraded to a Savannah room).

Thanks
Martine :sunny:

Getting an upgrade is not a standard thing .....It has a lot to do with availability and who is working the check in at the time......don’t expect it then you won’t be disappointed

Yes that's right. It would depend on how busy it is at the time. We stayed at the Yacht Club in February and it was fairly quiet.
We mentioned at check in that we were getting married (I asked them if they could let my EM know we had arrived), and got an upgrade to a water view. He gave us a choice of 2 rooms, one was nicer than the other but a much further walk, so we chose the nearer one to everything, and it was still very nice.

It would be much better to book the highest level you can afford, for now (AKL Savannah), then as you are getting closer, call to check for upgrade availability and just upgrade your ressies, if your budget will allow it. We, originally, booked 14 nights at BWI-Concierge deluxe and after playing around with our budget, decided that we would save more by changing our ressies to BC-Concierge Garden. I would love to upgrade this to the water view, but will wait, until December, by then we'll know for sure if we should upgrade the view. Hopefully, by the time the packages come out, we will be able to upgrade then, because we have a "room only" for now, just to make sure we have a room.

What ever you decide to do, I hope it works out for you :goodvibes

Getting upgraded is never guaranteed, but it has happened to a good number of brides.

If you have your heart set on a certain type of room, I would book and pay for that room. Otherwise you run the risk of being disapointed at check in if you aren't upgraded to the room you really wanted.

Thanks for all your replies. :sunny:

We are in the room that we want (I can't wait to see the animals just outside the window! :cheer2: ) I was just a bit curious to see if many people having their wedding at Disney had been up-graded. It'll be a nice surprise if it happens, but I certainly won't be expecting it to happen.

We were upgraded on our comp night to a waterview with a king size bed on the concierge floor.

We are leaving for our DisneyMoon Cruise on Sunday aboard the Wonder and were told that our stateroom had been upgraded from a category 10 to a category 7!!!!!!!!
