Probably a silly question about buffets and the DDP

I can't imagine the scenario being what I am asking, but I always prefer to know: :)

With children on the DDP, and eating at a buffet meal (such as the character meals at CP or Chef Mickey's or whatever) can they ONLY eat the items listed as "children's favorites" or "Pooh's Corner" or whatever, or can (as I assume) they eat everything on the buffet?

I can see my kids wanting something on the buffets other than nuggets or mac & cheese.

I guess I only wonder because I KNOW they are being very strict about "children can only order from the children's menu" which is fine at a "menu" restaurant, but I wasn't sure how it would work at a buffet. My kids will be 5 y.o. (twins) when we go, so I am not saying they want a bunch of steak and fancy stuff, but we would find the children's "corner" at these buffets pretty boring and limited. My kids are very good about eating spicy, different, ethnic food, so...

Thanks for any help here. Again, I feel that this SHOULD be an obvious answer, but it's better to be safe than sorry!

Not a dumb question at all! I know I've seen that asked before and almost positive that children (and adults for that matter) can eat off either buffet. I'm sure someone else can confirm this, though.

Kids can eat whatever they want at a buffet. My very tiny 9 year old loves meat more than anything else so she looks forward to the prime rib at the buffets. Last year, at Crystal Palace, the chef at the carving station sliced off a piece and put it on his carving board to cut it up for her before he put it on her plate! What a nice guy!

At buffets, under 3 are free, 3-10 pay childs rate, and 10+ pay adult. Everyone eats as much as they want, of whatever they want:thumbsup2

Thanks for the quick responses! :goodvibes My kids are not picky, and like stuff like couscous and some beef and pork and chicken and lots of different things. They love mac & cheese and nuggets, don't get me wrong, but they also will eat about anything I put down in front of them, so... I just needed to know. I've not made my ADRs yet, but I was kind of heavy on buffets for a few days, and didn't want to be stuck.

I also enjoyed some of the food off the 'childrens section'. I loved the chicken at Hollywood and Grill, and also ate the chicken strips, pizza, meatballs, etc...at the other places. And the 100 Acre Woods friends waffles at Crystal Palace!

My kids and I were talking about our favorite places the other day and my daughter said again how much she loved the buffets, because she could always find something she wanted, and loved trying a little bit of everything. They are a great way to go, especially for picky eaters or large groups.

Enjoy!

I had planned for my 5 year old to have adult food and my 10 year old to eat from the childs section, this keeping them both happy. I'm so relieved I don't have to argue that we are only gettting the one adult and one child meal we are entitled to.

I asked the same question, and the answer I got was that they can eat anything they want.
