I don't think you can do this but can you just get married at the wedding pavilion and have a reception somewhere else off disney? We don't plan on doing that at all, we have our heart set but if something happened (god forbid) where we couldn't afford it, is it possible?

If you're having an Intimate, I don't see how Disney can stop you, but you'd probably have to deal with helping transport your guests to and from the off-site reception venue. If you're having a Custom you really need the reception to count toward your minimum unless you're having a really lavish ceremony.

if you're having an intimate, you're really only paying for the ceremony and the cake cutting so you can have reception wherever you want
i believe that with customs, you have a per head food and beverage minimum that you must meet, so you are really comitted to having a reception on property.
