I am sure this has been covered in that past, but I would love to ask it anyway. We bought points at BCV after our trip there last Sept. We will be returning in October for our "first trip home".

Here is my question...I was thinking of next year and wondering how hard it is to get into the VWL the first week in December if that is not your home resort?

Thanks for all this great information, this is a very helpful group, I am happy to have found you.

It all depends upon how flexible your dates are. We own HH, but we just this morning booked a week in September at Vero, and 4 days at VWL for about 3 weeks from now. No problem getting our first choice in dates.

We also booked a week over Christmas at OKW back in June.

Our experience has been pretty good.

That is getting more difficult as more DVC'ers are finding out it's a great place to be with all the great Holiday decorations. I was able to get in the last 2 years the week after Thanksgiving, last year we were on the wait list. I'm on the wait list for this year, still waiting. I have BCV booked, and will enjoy my stay there if the wait list fails this year. Go for it, I would book at 'home' as abackup if you really want to be at WDW. You might try the rent/trade board and swap points/reservations with a VWL owner.

Reserve at BCV at the 11 month window and then see if WLV, or whatever you want to try, is available at the 7 month window.

Definitely book your home resort first. Most times of year are not that difficult to book at seven months, as long as you are not looking for a GV or a STD View. There are only two times of the year that are difficult at seven months, late Oct till early Nov and the first two weeks of Dec, the Dec dates are probably the most difficult of any.
