Sorry but I have to comment...
I don't understand the negative attitude here. Just because you have enough slides does not mean everyone else has enough. Many many requests have come in asking for slides to be back. We have made no secret of the fact that items will come back now and them.
Yavn,
thank you for your comments and they are more than welcome! My negative statements in this thread were towards the prizes. Up and Down slides do not impress to someone who spent hours doing a ride-a-thon and then received the same slides later for a couple of Quest prizes. That in and of itself would not be minded so much except that now I am stuck with a plethora of extra slides (even after I built a ride) that I can't trade. So they are worthless. I haven't tried to sell them... I'm hoping the trade embargo will be lifted someday...
I don't doubt that other people weren't around for the ride-a-thon/quests and want slides. I'd be happy to give them away or trade for like items, but oh, wait... I can't.

So yeah, you have to re-release.

Just because the prizes are slides now does not mean they will stay slides forever. ...
Excellent! New prizes would certainly be exciting! And when I see them I should expect to be happy about it then! When I say this I honestly mean no offense or disrespect Sir, but I've learned not to hold my breath for future releases in VMK.

....The trading issue is more difficult to answer. We are working on soloutions for making code distribution more secure. Once that issue is solved you will see more items tradable.
I understand that there were problems with illicit codes which caused certain items to become untradable (Sparrows, Narnia porters, Galleons, etc.). But the up/down slides were not previously available via code. Can it be explained why these had become untradeable? This is something that really has confused many people, myself included. And I think that is the core to my ire and distaste towards the new games, or more accurately the prizes for the new games.
It just occurred to me... I see now that the slides may have been made untradeable because you knew they were going to become code prizes, and the code distribution security issue hadn't fixed... Of course that makes sense!

Hmm... and if you released something new, then went back to slides later, that would
really upset people. Hmm... Better to release the slides to make the slideless masses happy and make them untradeable until the security issue is resolved. But you say they'll be re-tradable once the issue is resolved?
Yavn, Sir, can you please confirm this line of thought?

....The question is more arcade types or more puzzlers?

What about the game itself? Is this a style of game you would like to see more of? With all the comments about arcade games I was expecting some comments about a puzzle game.
Ah, you know we should have talked more about the game itself. That was rude of us to only concentrate on the prizes and not comment on the game. For my part, I apologize for the oversight...
I have, thus far, only played the game a handful of times the morning it was first "
previewed" - And I enjoyed it. I was sad not to get a code, at the time. But when the codes were released and I found out they were giving up/down slides, well I don't need those so haven't got back to it. I'd rather spend my VMK time playing Fireworks.
But I do like games like this (Tetris, Bejeweled, etc.) in general, and specifically this game was fun. It was visually pleasing, and had great artwork! The theme (beach, gator, life preservers, etc.) was consistant throughout and appropriate. The play was simple to learn, yet challenging enough not to be boring. I like how you could go up the side and change the angle of the gameboard. That was cool! To have to complete 10+ levels for only one slide piece seems like too much work since it takes 10-20 minutes to get there (well, it did for me). Play 10 minutes in Fireworks, get up to 1300 credits and you can buy several regular slide pieces at Ned's. Maybe the gator games can give 1 slide piece every other level or something so after 10 minutes/levels you get 5 slides?
Arcade games can be fun, though I'm not good at the ones in Tomorrowland (Yet! I keep trying BiS as I love Asteroids!). I am really good at Fireworks (loved Missle Commander too

) and though it's a speed/action game there's also a puzzle/pattern aspect to it - you guys found a great balance with that. The Galleon ship game is great too, looks beautiful, has a pattern, but there is some randomness and requires reflexes. The Sparrow suit game, while it looked pretty and was a fun adventure the first time through... it quickly became tedious and ponderous to go through so many screens for a chance at the brass ring. After 1000+ plays I really didn't care about how it looked (and, contrary to what VMK told me, I was never the envy of the kingdom for having a PoTC poster LOL

)
Anywho, back to the Gator games... The games are great! You have to please so many people that you're going to have to come out with some fast games and some brain games. Hopefully you'll be able to do both. I look forward to playing Gator when it gives out new prizes or slides become tradeable again. Until then Good Sir...
