Does anyone know if I can set up a private meet and greet with the little mermaid? My niece is obsessed with her and we would love to set up a private meeting with her. :wizard: We have breakfast scheduled at Cinderella’s Royal table but i don't think Ariel is a regular there...? If anyone knows anything about this I would appreciate it! :confused3 Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by a private meeting? Anyone can meet Ariel at her grotto in the MK. You will be able to talk to her and get your pictures, etc. You have to wait in line with everyone else, though. I am not sure how you could get your own "private" meeting.

You can wait in line at her grotto to see her.I have never heard of a "private" meet n greet before:confused3 I am sure if there is one it comes with a very hefty price tag attached to it.

I know that if you have a party at disney or a celebration dinner... such as a reception or a welcome dinner you can pay to have a character come. I just didn't know if Ariel is one of them or how much it would cost... ;) Plus you would have more time with the character. If it cost too much or if we can't do it we will wait in line but my niece can be shy so I don't want her to miss out. HaHa!

If you happen to have bought practically every Disney movie ever made in the last couple of years (and still have all your receipts), you can buy a private meet and greet with a character with Disney Movie Rewards points.... but you have to have LOTS of points (15,000 to be exact). Since you only get 75-100 points per movie, you can only use each title once, and points can't be combined from multiple accounts, it is unlikely that is a reasonable option, but you never know....

I would think that Ariel's Grotto would be your best bet. There is a little cove Ariel meets her guests in so it will be semi-private (there is usually a Photopass photographer there as well as a character handler). It is more private than most meet and greets as you won't be visible to others waiting in line (the next family behind you will probably be able to see, but that will be all).

My daughter is obsessed with Belle, so we are going to the Princess Storybook Dinner in Epcot. Most of the princesses are suppose to be there. They also have a breakfast.

We met Ariel at CRT and Akershus. So those would be your best bets.

I did not know about the Disney Movie Rewards points - hmmmm I will have to start saving those (bad mommy!!).

I do not know how old your neice is, but the time spent with Ariel and others at the Autograph signings and the meals was enough for my 3 (almost 4 year old). She was so in AWE!!! She hardly spoke and would barely pose for a photo - she just stood there!!

One other thing you could do for her is do BBB and get the Ariel dress - you are looking at about $65 for the dress (no accessories - they are all additional) and $60 for the basic package (can someone correct me if I have the worng price on this, I was sure it was about $60). If you do this before CRT or Akershus, Ariel is sure to give your neice a little extra attention.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping Ariel would be at CRT but the last time we went she wasn't one of the princesses!

We had a private meet and greet with Tinkerbelle and her friends. It was a perk of the premium VIP tour. I don't recommend it for just a private meeting though-$$$$. We booked it because the crowds at Spring Break were awful. I can give you the cost, send me a PM.

I would love to hear how your VIP tour went! We are doing 2 in August (Magic Kingdom on DD's bday and HS on mine). How was it? Are you writting a TR??

We did the Storybook Princes Breakfast in Epcot in July and my dd LOVED IT!!!

We also happend to go to MK on a EMH night one night and got into the Princess tent right before closing and had a "private" meet and greet with Belle, Cinderella and Aurora..... it was my 2 girls, dh and myself and the princesses, 3 handlers and the photopass photographers.....they spent 30 minutes talking to my girls taking pictures including all 3 princesses with each girl...and together. My photopass had 50 princess pictures from that experience. It was the best part of our trip....(it was about 10pm in July!)

I was so happy for my youngest who had been terrified of all the full characters (Mickey etal) and that the princesses talked and held her made the trip even more special.

Good luck!

It was nice. Are you doing the premium or the standard? The standard has the tour guide getting your FPs and you have to be there when the park opens. With the premium, you don't need to wait for the FPs, you automatically get in the FP line and you show up when you want. You do get the best viewing areas for the parades and the shows with both tours.
No, I'm not writing a trip report. It was not a great trip-the crowds were horrific and I had problems with our tickets. They wouldn't scan and a CM accused me of trying to get FPs w/out my daughter and her friends being in the park. After this trip, I'm done with Disney for a long, long time.

We went to Ariel's Grotto right after the park opened and no one was there. It was essentially a private meeting for my DD3. In fact, the CM at the entrance lured us over because it was so empty. You might try going there first to see if you can get in without waiting and no one around. Plus, I was told the lines can get long there.
