I'm just curious what Disney parks offer for private/family washrooms. Our daughter will be 5, still in pull-ups. It's so hard in those tiny stalls to get shoes, pants off etc... get a clean pull up on, and obviously she's too old/big/embarrassed by the changing tables. I was wondering if there are private family washrooms available?

Sundresses can make changing easy at that age! Slip-on shoes may help as well.

In addition to the companion restrooms, all restrooms (at least I believe all) have at least one larger HA stall. That's what we use most often when needing a pull-up change. I agree the standard stalls are quite tight. There may be a wait at the companion restrooms, and depending on where you are in the park one may not be as close a regular restroom.

Enjoy your vacation!

Without getting into an argument, it would benefit other guests if you went into the regular restroom and used the larger stalls inside there. While is 100% your right to use one of the companion single rest rooms, no question, there are others who have REALLY need those. ( I am one of those, I have a 25 year old special needs son that I try to keep out of the ladies rooms. You should see US, trying to squeeze into a regular sized stall! Desperate times sometimes call for desperate measures, lol)

Have fun! Soon you will be out of the pull-up stage.

We have need. I'll leave it at that.

you can also stop in first aid and they will let you use the restroom is well. we have done that in the past. it is not convenient if you are at the back of the park but if you are near one and need to use it and its nice to at least have that option as well

People have different needs that might not be obvious to others, so may need facilities they may not seem to at first thought.

Here's some more information to help the OP decide what options there are.

All restrooms have at least one handicapped stall (ADA requirement). The smaller handicapped stalls may be too small and don't have a sink. They also have nothing for disposal except a small wall trash container (may not even be big enough to contain a pull-up).
There is usually a larger handicapped stall that is large enough that a wheelchair will fit inside. The older ones are just barely big enough for a wheelchair and not be large enough for changing a 5 yr old.

As bathrooms are being renovated, they are bringing those larger stalls up to the newer ADA guidelines, which include more space and a sink. Those also have a trash receptacle that is larger. They are still stalls though and may not have the amount of privacy you want for changing a 5 yr old. But, not all restrooms have been renovated yet.

There is sometimes a wait for the Companion Restrooms because of the amount of time people using them need and there are only about 6 per park, so are sometimes not convenient to where you are. Some locations are pretty visible, but take a bit more looking to find.

If you need to lie your child down, First Aid is really your only choice. They have private rooms with cots - just let them know what you need do they can send you to a room that meets your needs.

the handicapped, private room, single one can take longer to get into if someone ahead of you is special needs that can take longer than normal esp if you are in a hurry with a young child. yes you have a need to use but remember that others can take longer than you would like to have to wait for the room

This is good to know. One of our biggest needs is to have a sink.

they are COMPANION restrooms and they are all over the place. anyone who needs assistance( or the extra maneuvering room) may use them, not just families with kids.

I wish the American Disney parks could equip their companion bathrooms as well as the Japanese parks do. The toilets are equipped with a pull down spray hose for big cleaning jobs. And they have an adult sized pull down bed/ table like the pull down changing tables found in some bathrooms here. Maybe some day.

Even though your daughter is older - maybe you could use the baby care restrooms? It would be worth a shot to ask. I have only heard positive things about the baby care areas.

I wanted to point out that the Companion Restrooms are set up meeting ADA requirements for handicapped accessibility.
Many people think they are Family Restrooms, like you might see in a mall, with possibly smaller, lower toilets and lower sink height for children. They are not set up like that at all.
They have raised seat toilets with grab bars, roll under sinks and most do not have chznging tables. So they really do not meet the needs of families very well since that is not the needs they were designed to address.

Also, a typical family restroom often has an actual stall area, allowing for different genders in one family to use the same facility at the same time, while also giving privacy. So a companion restroom might not offer what a family needs. Families shouldn't assume that the ADA compliant companion restrooms are the same as the Family restrooms in other locations.

This exactly.

OP, my only worry for you would be that if you are in immediate need of a place to change your daughter, you may have a bit of a wait at a companion restroom. They are few and far between, so you may have a bit of a hike to get to one. Then it may be occupied. The good thing is is if you can make do in a regular restroom stall, they should be nearby.

There will be times when that will be fine, but for #2, we will need the companion room, as we'll need access to the sink etc...
There will b
