Priority Seating and Reservations at DL

I've been to WDW lots of times and most of the restaurants have priority seating, not reservations. Also, I've always been able to get good info on the web about WDW restaurants (which ones have priority seating, how far ahead you can call. menus, etc.), but I don't know where to get similar info for DL.

I know I want to book a character meal for the kids and will probably want at least a few other "reservations" as well.

I read somewhere that DL has mostly reservations that require a credit card guarantee vs. priority seating. Is this true? Where can I find out which restaurants have priority seating and which have reservations? How far ahead can I call? Thanks!

On my last trip I made reservations for about half a dozen different places through Guest Services at PPH and never was asked for my credit card ( and I didn't put it on file at the front desk either, so I know the ressie wasn't guaranteed that way). One night when we went to Yamabuki, with a reservation, I told the hostess my name and she turned to the peson who was going to seat us, spoke some Japanese, and in it all I heard the words "Priority Seating". Maybe ressies for Disney hotel guests are automatically considered to be a PS? Also, here's the restaurant link for Mouseplanet. Not sure how up to date it is, but it might help a bit :D

Before our trip to Disneyland I also had alot of trouble finding out information, unlike WDW. I did have some luck with the following websites: laughingplace.com and MousePlanet.com. Good Luck and have a good time

If you go to the Disneyland Website at the top of the page (after it loads) cilck "what to do" then go to dining then go to the drop down menu under "show me dining" choose with Priority Seating and you will be given a list of which restaurant have priority dinning for each park, the hotels and downtown disney.

If you know where you want to eat, simply call (714) 781-DINE to make arrangements.

For more info, I find mouseinfo.com to be a great site with another great message boards.

I booked all my priority seatings (without credit card #) for our trip at the end of September. Most are 60 day advance PS. I made a reservation at ESPN (no credit card #) in Downtown Disney.
The only reservation with my credit card is Fantasmic Dessert Buffet (which would be more like a special dining experience like Hoop de doo Revue).
Hope this helps.
