Prints from Digital Cameras QUESTION

Last year I used a 5MP Minolta and carried two 128Mb cards each day. At night I transferred them to a portable hard drive that reads PC/Flash cards (a digital wallet). The kids loved seeing the pics on the TV each night of that days events. I always shoot at the highest resolution & lowest compression so i can crop more when I get home. However, that method is only valuable to those who do their own printing. Ended up shooting about 2 cd's full of pics.

This year I've just bought a new Canon A70 3MP to carry in June. Size was my biggest issue since the Dimage7 ate my NiMH batteries and weighed a lot more. Should work out fine since I found I didn't use the full telephoto as much in the parks and didn't need to crop as much since most shots were either people/characters or wide scenery shots.

Good luck in whatever you do.

Travel over to Shutterfly and get your first 15 pictures free. The service is amazing, quick, affordable, and the pictures are so crisp and clear! I cannot recommend it enough. Just give it a try.. it's worth it.

I use shutterfly all the time for my prints. I ony use a digital at the world and always come home with 150 pictures that I have to have prints of! I buy prints in lots of 500 and get the price at shutterfly down to about .15 a print. As I use the prints the total is deducted from my account. They are super fast and I get my prints back within 2 days of downloading them. I've tried two other online photo shops and shutterfly stands out in service and quality.

Went by Wolf camera last night, not sure if they are a chain anywhere other than NC, but they have a new machine in house that you just stick your memory stick in and choose which photos you want printed and you have them in 5 minutes. They also said that for good quality and more storage that 1 megapix was sufficient for 4 x 6. Bigger requires 2 or 3 megapix. They even took a picture of DS and printed it for me as an example and it was as good as I would want for general photos. Their cost was .39 per print.

skiwee1...I've never used shutterfly so I went to check out the site. I did not see how you could get a lot of 500 or prints lower than .29 each. Did I miss something?

Any info you can pass along will be greatly appreciated!!! :smooth:

I don't know. I bought these 6 months ago and that was the price then. Maybe they went up in price? I now when I got them it was 500 for around .15 each. Maybe I got a deal or special at the time. I'll have to look into it.
