Printing on a dark envelope

We received the proof of our invitation and the envelope is a very dark navy blue...

Here is a picture of of the envelopes (not ours)

Any suggestions on how to address them? For the STD's we used a clear label but that won't work with these (unless we can print in silver).

I would use silver gel pen or sharpie. not sure how many invites you need though. good luck

My printer wouldn't print silver or white ink on our black envelopes for our invites because he couldn't guarantee that they would turn out ok. I understand wanting to be a perfectionist so we changed our outer envelopes to an aquamarine color and he printed in black.

I made the Martha Stewart wrap around labels. There is a template you can download and then I printed them on whole sheet label paper so I just had to cut and stick them. It wasn't hard just a little time consuming to get everything right. I just didn't want to deal with printing on my metallic envelopes.

The envelopes for our invitations were dark as well. I used a metallic Sharpie pen to address them.

We are also using the Martha Stewart label template. However I think if you or someone you know has nice handwriting, using a metallic pen would be more beautiful and personalized. There are some websites that will also print clear wedding address labels for you in a print color of your choice like http://bachcroft.com/clear_labels/sheer_clear_wedding_labels.html
Although this could be a very expensive option.

Thanks for the tips. I didn't want to get a caligrapher, I could only find silver labels and my handwritting is only so so. We're going to try the Martha Stewart labels and see how they work.

If not, I'm going to see if we can switch to a different envelope.

If the labels don't work out for you, the metallic sharpie (espically the silver) is so pretty.
When I had a project back a couple of years ago I asked around to see who had nice handwriting / printing. As it turned out, one staff members husband could do calligraphy (sp?).
Just ask around, someone will be able to help you out. I'm sure between your friends and co-workers
