printing my park tickets?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. Is there any benefit to having my park tickets printed if I have it all in the app? The kids won't be carrying phones with them. Will we need to scan tickets for the lockers? I think I read that somewhere? We don't have EP but will buy it if we need it this week. I went into my account to print my tickets, but I can't find them to print, even though it says I have four adult tickets starting tomorrow. Also, lanyards. Do they give these out at the hotel or should I bring some? Thanks so much for any guidance you can give me.

I find it easier for all to have their own tickets. You can go to any service place, and they should be able to print your tickets out. Each of us has a lanyard, with our AP facing out one side, and our hotel pass/key facing the other way. No free lanyards, except when you do a paid tour. I just save those from the tours we have done. The ones we always use were bought at Universal, but you can buy them anywhere you want. And yes, usually you scan your ticket or AP to get a locker. As lanyards are allowed, some you are asked to slide it inside your shirt, on all rides where bags not allowed. I hope you and family have a great time this week. I’m here for a couple more days, and weather is great. No rain predicted all week. Will see how the crowds are today. We came in yesterday, and there was crowds. Mainly I assume as locals bring the weekend, and last day of the free park concert and Orlando Informer buy out of the parks after they closed, was yesterday.

We always see people struggling with home-printed tickets. If I'm in a turnstile line and I see a family in front of me with home-printed tickets, I move to another line even if it's a bit longer.

For the lockers, you need to scan a bar code. That could be your ticket (hard, home-printed, app-based, AP), an Express Pass, or any other bar code. If you don't have a bar code on you, the TMs at the lockers have some paper tickets with printed bar codes. If you use the app bar code, you will need to get one of those paper tickets at the rides that won't let you get on with a phone in your pocket: Rip Ride Rocket, Velocicoaster, and Hulk.

We were that family one year. It’s been many years now so hopefully printers and their scanners work better but our printouts wouldn’t scan. We couldn’t see anything wrong with them (it wasn’t like the printer was running low on ink or anything). They were able to type the numbers in or something but we went to Guest services later in the day to get the cards printed a avoid the hassle.
