Princesses at Citricos You can be $pecial...

I don't have a problem with it. I would never have bought it, but I don't have a problem with them offering it. (We never bought more than the basic $55 BBB package).

My beef is when they take something away from the rest of the guests to offer the upsell. (Like taking some of the villains out of MNSSHP to sell the soiree).

1000 x this.

Designing something while leaving room for upgrades for future profit = ok
Designing something then taking away from the base product so you can later sell this as an "upgrade" for future profits = bad

Maleficent during the MNSSHP is a perfect example, and I'd be fuming if I had gone this year.

This is my thought, too. If some fool wants to spend that much scratch on a bunch of trinkets, have at it. It's not taking away from my experience at all, so more power to them.

FWIW, this is not a new thing. This package has been offered by Disney Florist for quite some time. I know I've read trip reports and posts where people have done this in the past. The Disney blog is now promoting it as an add-on at Citricos, but if you go to the site and click through, you're redirected to the Disney Florist website, where you'll find this package can be delivered anywhere on property.

We go to CRT once every trip, and I've honestly never noticed anything another guest has there, or at any other restaurant. There's so much going on (looking at the castle, the food itself, the princesses, all the announcements, the wands & swords, the Wishing ceremony) that I can't even imagine having time to look around at other tables to see what they have that we don't.

Wait...Disney sells something that some families can afford and want to buy and other families can't or don't want??? Say it isn't so. The horror. Its almost like Disney behaves like everything else in the whole wide world.

That cape is fugly though.

Agavegirl, I wrote a similar thread yesterday, its on the Restaurants board. So funny, I told you our brains think alike :)

Now I'm thinking that the refurbished Cinderella's Royal Table will probably return with a bigger price tag and some added merchandise. Along the lines of the Princess Tea at the Grand Floridian where you get a whole bunch of merch along with the extravagant price.

Why did this need a second thread?

On our first trip we stayed offsite at a crappy motel by Universal, ate QS meals and enjoyed every minute of it even though I didn't have fancy custom outfits or character meals or princess dresses or crowns. I was grateful to finally get to go to somewhere I had been dreaming of.

Kids should be grateful for their parents taking them to WDW and spending extra on a princess character meal, not whining because little Sally got a tiara on the next table over.

I just noted the above post stating this was a package sold at the Disney florist and is available to be delivered anywhere at WDW, not specifically just to CRT or Citricos, so is the objection now that it's being marketed as something to have at a restaurant? or just that it's offered in the first place?
