Princess Weekend 2022

Under yoga, it mentions a yoga check-in pass. Wonder if we get that the same time as the expo pass becomes available or what.

When are we going to know what corral we are in?
Do they send an email or do we find out at bib pickup? (First timer here - so excited!)

I’m sure this is a dumb question since I know corrals won’t come out until you pick up your bib, but do we get bib numbers beforehand? I thought I remembered DopeyBadger running spreadsheets predicting where people might start based on bib number and submitted finishing time for either the wine and dine or the half…

I think once runner tracking is live, you can look yourself up in that system to get your bib number ahead of time.

It does appear after the 5k is over, the buses back to the resorts are over near where we normally get dropped off. Unlike in year's past where the resort bus pickup location was on the east side of the staging area. This new location for bus pickup is the same as it was during MW. This is a good thing for those that finish the 5k before the last starting groups have been released. Historically, you would finish and then wait. Presumably the new location allows you to leave more immediately.

It also appears they are using the security screening area from EPCOT (as I believe they did during MW) instead of the security up near the southwest corner of the starting groups holding area.

Exact match to MW 2022, except that the water aid station appears prior to DHS instead of after DHS.

Starting line is in the EPCOT parking lot instead of on EPCOT Center Drive. I wonder if this is why they originally intended on having designated arrival times. Because I can imagine this getting pretty busy in that area for the HM. Historically, the Princess HM has 20,000 finishers, and the 5k/10k usually have 12,000 or so. So there will be a significant increase in the number of runners pre-race in the area that they normally hold something like 12,000 runners.

The turn off EPCOT Center Drive to World Drive around Mile 1 is new. This is flat (neither uphill or downhill). Whereas the old route was on a ramp and thus had some uphill and downhill components.

We do a jaunt through the MK bus drop off area, which I remember from the 2018 marathon once before.

There's also an extra bumb in Frontier Land in MK heading towards Big Thunder.

The finish from there appears to be roughly the same.

Can someone please explain this Expo Pass to me? My last race was pre-Covid. I don't get it. TIA

your expo pass is essentially a receipt that you completed your waiver online successfully. It will be emailed to you sometime in the week leading up to the races. You need to screenshot it and show them when you pick up your bib. It has your bib number on it so they can cross check it against their enormous binder of everyone who is registered.

if you have issues with your waiver just deal with it at runner relations. They were all set up and waiting for us in the same room/building as bib pickup during MW.

How cambered is the 10k globally?

The biggest camber I'm aware of is around Mile 1.5 when exiting EPCOT Drive onto World Dr. See the video below:

Your best bet is either of the white road lines as long as it's not slippery. Go high or go low, but avoid the middle.

There is camber on the mile 2.75 onramp as well. But there is more of an edge to the inside circle that makes it more manageable.

I see two main scenarios:

I want runDisney merchandise

My recommendation is to go to A (Advent Health Arena) first. If you go on the first day (Thursday, Feb 24th) around opening (10am), then expect to wait in line to get inside. The earlier you arrive, the more likely you will be to get a specific item or size. Items do tend to sell out within hours of the Expo opening, and it is impossible to predict. However, given shipping shortages worldwide, and Spring Surprise was given no pre-sale opportunities, I believe merch will be more limited than a normal runDisney event. The expo buses begin running around 9:30am from resorts.

After shopping in A (Advent Health Arena), head to C (HP Field House) to pick up you bib. If you need to sign a paper waiver, or talk with runner's relations, then this is also in the HP Field House.

After picking up your bib in C (HP Field House), head to B (VISA Athletic Center) to pick up your free event shirt. At the VISA Athletic Center is where you'll also find other non-runDisney vendors.

I don't want runDisney merchandise

Skip going to A (Advent Health Arena) completely and, head to C (HP Field House) to pick up you bib. If you need to sign a paper waiver, or talk with runner's relations, then this is also in the HP Field House.

If you're a visual person, this is a youtube video from MW 2022 that shows a good run-down of the Expo experience upon arriving at WWOS.
