Never is a big word, you did better than me in 2020. Thanks!I can never interpret these maps into irl places so I don't have any suggestions of where to meet.

GUYS - bad news. I likely have a stress fracture in my lower left leg. Doc says I should stay off it for 4-6 weeks.Getting an MRI in a week and will have more specifics then but there is virtually no chance I am running the Challenge.

But, I really think I could not run for the next 3 weeks and then run/'walk the 10k. I have been running 13 miles/week for about 3 weeks with this stress fracture (it's a mild/dull pain) and it has not gotten significantly worse. But I knew something was up and clearly I need to stay off it to heal. BUT, this is/was my first runD weekend, and I really want the experience of a race! I think I can do the 10k without causing any damage. I am considering walking the HM but that might be too much. We also arrive on 2/19 so I am there a week in advance and will clearly be walking a good amount before the races.
Has anyone dealt with this before? If I contact runD with a doctor's note, could I get the HM portion of my registration refunded? Or maybe I would need to get a refunded for the full challenge, probably can't pick and choose (if refund is even an option).
(And do a lot of people bring their babies to the starting line at 3 am considering strollers/baby joggers aren't allowed in the race?)
I just noticed this, is this usual? Does this mean the Skyliner doesn’t operate just during/surrounding the races or not at all for anyone all weekend? We were really hoping to take the Skyliner to Epcot later Sunday evening
Last-minute I know, but where is everybody buying their tiaras? I just decided this is probably my one chance to run in a tiara, and I should take it.
I’m set for wardrobe, I just have one accessory to finish for my Merida 10K outfitI have had my half marathon outfit planned for a while (Merida-themed) but I just *cannot* land on an idea for the 10k. How is everyone doing with wardrobe?

I am in full doubting mode. I bought a Merida themed skater dress off etsy last summer. My plan was to wear it for the HM.
I ran a few times with it, including twice on the treadmill in the last month and now I'm not thrilled with the fit. I should have sized up, when the seller suggested I should buy my current size. I'm 5'4/165lbs and I look a bit pudgy in the dress. The middle is constantly riding up and it's not super fun to run in. Wondering if I should switch it up and wear my Incredibles leggings + top. Or just suck it up and aim for awesomeness no matter how I look.
Also depends on the weather. Based on Billy's weather analysis
Historical Temp+Dew
T+D tends to be higher up (yellow/orange) and coming from the Northeast, I want to aim to wear as little as possible or I'm gonna die from the heat. And my Incredibles leggings are full length
You're so right. I will be honest with the doc and understand the risks of even just running/walking the 10k. I won't push it if it's a stupid thing to do.My first piece of advice would be to talk to your doctor. Be 100% honest with them (if you haven't already) that you have two races coming up and see what they recommend. And then actually do it (which IMHO is the hardest thing). If you decide to "compromise," ask what the risks are and make sure that you understand/accept them.
For the next few weeks, do you have access to a bike or can you get access to one (think joining a gym for the month)? If nothing else, you can keep your cardio/conditioning level up and burn off some of the crazies.
So I've been struggling with this - if I can't finish the HM, I don't think I can bring myself to collect the medal. Is that just me? It will always have an asterix next to it in my head whenever I look at it again for the rest of my life. It's one of the reasons I want to run/walk the 10k - so I come home with at least one medal! Ugh.You can always ask them! And remember that all you have to do to get your race medal is to start so if they say no, show up, start and collect your loot.
Makes sense to me and I'm up for a meet up before the HM!I see four lightposts in the Reunion Area forming a square. So the meetup would be at the southwest lightpost when you see each forming a square. Like this:

Red Pac Man took the above picture. The faded blue triangle represents the picture area. There are three yellow circles which are each of the lightposts and a fourth that in the above picture during MW 2022 was green. The black arrow shows which lightpost I'm suggesting.
But if that's too confusing, we could try for outside the Joffrey's truck. I would imagine it could be busier there and harder to distinguish people though. I could bring a sign as well. At least for the 5k I will be VERY noticeable (assuming nothing goes wrong) dressed as Vision (light up cape).
Yea, everyone visualizes space differently. You could give me something like the above cartoon, and I essentially know exactly where I am in relation to everything. But that's how I visualize space. What would make it easiest for you to find a meet-up location like this? I figured a lightpost is a good choice because it's essentially an immoveable object outside of construction or a massive storm. But I'm open to a counterproposal.
Wishing you the best of luck. rD is hit or miss on giving refunds. More often they don't, but it can't hurt to try and ask I guess.
I've got my shirt, skirt, and tiara headband purchased but haven't ran in them yet so hopefully they fit well! I'm going with a Cinderella theme. As soon as they get here, I'll be trying them!I have had my half marathon outfit planned for a while (Merida-themed) but I just *cannot* land on an idea for the 10k. I spent a good amount of money on a Meg outfit from Etsy that was not returnable and I did not like the fit on me at all- it felt tight and unflattering. I ultimately decided not to wear it and put together a different outfit (Pegasus) that I loved and had a blast in. I would go with whatever makes you feel confident.Wondering if I should switch it up and wear my Incredibles leggings + top. Or just suck it up and aim for awesomeness no matter how I look.
Nope it's not a question of chafing or rubbing. The dress is actually quite soft. It's more that with the middle belt part riding up, it's making me look even shorter than I already amI wouldn’t worry about how you perceive you look in the dress. I get it. I do the same thing. But everyone else will just see a cute Merida dress! Now, the fit is another thing. Is the riding up just an annoyance or is it causing weird rubbing anywhere? Does the sports bra underneath seem to affect it at all?
You're right. I just finished my run and temp was 8F. We've had such a cold January that I'm more apprehending the warmer temps than how I look in the dress. Thanks!I would also be very careful with full length leggings in the average temps for this race. I run in much warmer temps than you do, and I would never consider full length leggings for a HM at those temps.
