What do you all think of this character dining? This is our first family trip to WDW and my DD3 just recently got into all the princesses! Just wondering if I could get any feedback for this ADR?

Thanks!

I really enjoyed Akershus. We went in August with two girls (6 and 8) and they enjoyed the interaction with the princesses. Each of the princesses come to your table, sign autographs books and pose for pictures. The time didn't feel rushed, IMHO. We had the breakfast buffet and the food was REALLY good.

I was going to book the dinner buffet. This is only counts for 1 dining credit on the Dis Dining Plan, right? I just wanted to be sure.
Which princesses where there when you went?

THanks!

Yes, Akershus is only 1 TS credit - and you'll also get a free picture included in that price for your group.

We saw Belle (you get your picture out front with her), Aurora, Snow White, Ariel and Cinderella, The princess dresses were just BEAUTIFUL and I really enjoyed seeing them up close. Also, I thought it was sort of funny that each of the princesses LOOKED like you imagine them. Snow White has this sweet apple-cheeked look for example, and Cinderella is just gorgeous.

We did the breakfast there two years ago and enjoyed it. We thought it was better than CRT foodwise. We had an early ADR so got to walk though an almost empty Epcot which was interesting.

We did breakfast because the lunch and dinner menu just didn't interest us. The princesses were great, posed with my teenaged daughter and the friend she had with her. They were really awesome with the little kids that were sitting near us too.

We liked it sooooo much better than Cinderella's Royal Table!! I have never felt rushed there. I did at CRT. It is much more relaxrd and the Princesses are great!

I'm booking it online and it asks for my credit card as a guarantee...we have the Disney Dining Plan, so my card won't be charged, correct? Is this just to hold my reservation?

I made an ADR on-line and gave my credit card. It is just to hold your reservation and I believe if you are a no show Disney will charge you.

Yes, they just want your credit card to hold the reservation. However if you decide not to go to this ADR, you'll need to cancel it or your credit card will be charged.

FYI - my friend (and and her great-niece traveled with us) had gone to CRT with her husband and niece a few years back and REALLY disliked it. She didn't think the food was worth the extra price, and she commented that she really liked the Akershus with the princess interaction.

Thank you all, I just booked it for our visit in two weeks!! My DD3 screamed and jumped around when I told her we were dining with the princesses!!!

I just booked for our November trip and they sent through a $1 charge on my card to "validate" the account. :confused3

We went To Akershus for breakfast and really enjoyed it. I would say it is much better than 1900 park fare. If i could do it over again i would cross 1900 park fare off my list and used my TS somewhere else.

Your DD is going to love it!! My DD was 2 years 10 months and liked Cinderella, but was not completely into the other princesses yet. Akershus sure changed that. Ever since that meal (last December) our house has been all Princess all the time. We did lunch and saw Belle (yellow dress for picture), Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine and Alice. DD ( a picky eater) actually ate really well there too. They have a grilled chicken meal, which was very welcome after way too many chicken nugget meals.

Not trying to hijack- just a question.

I have read on quite a few posts that people have seen Cinderella at Akershus. Is she pretty regular there? My DD loves Cinderella and we have this breakfast booked as well as 1900 Park Fare. But if she is normally at PSB I do not want to use the credit for 1900. Any thoughts?

Ok, now here's a "fashion" question...Do all the girls typically wear a princess dress or costume while eating there?

Ughh, that's the one thing I don't have...have a Minnie dress but no princess...and I don't want to be the only one who doesn't have any princess-y on!

I had read on DIS that a lot of girls wore princess dresses to this meal ...... however, when we were there in the HEAT of August, there were some, but it wasn't like every kid had a dress by any means. If I had to venture a guess for our particular meal there, I'd say perhaps 25% to 30% of the girls had dresses?

I would like to know this too. And does she seem to show up more at breakfast, lunch or dinner?

If anybody has pictures, please post. I would love to see them. :goodvibes

We did see Cinderella, and Belle, Aurora, Ariel and Snow White.

Since they started including the picture we find this to be the priciest breakfast at WDW. My daughter loves it and we do it, but our wallet does not love it.

We had breakfast at Akershus. We thought the meal was very good. We saw Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White and Ariel. We were pleasantly surprised to also receive a 6x8 picture plus 4 4x6 pictures with Belle.

Here are some pictures from when we went. My daughter is somewhat shy, so the pictures aren't the greatest, but the princesses were really good with her. She really enjoyed it and still talks about having breakfast with the princesses!

My sister had previously been to the dinner at this restaurant and her family did not like the food at all. Their daughter enjoyed the princesses, but she said she would not go back there again, it just did not appeal to them, which is why we went for breakfast.

As far as dressing up, there were a few girls dressed up, but the majority of them were not.
