Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus, opinions please!

Pinkjade -- Those pictures were great. Thank you so much for posting them. I love how your daugther is holding onto her stuffed Sleeping Beauty for dear life! :lovestruc How old is she??? Mine will be turning 3 while we are there and I want to have her b-day meal be with the princesses. I'm pretty sure she'll be screaming her head off because she'll be scared to death... That will make for some GREAT pictures.

What princesses are at CRT?

We ate Bfast there last Friday. It was GREAT! (pics in my trip report, link at bottom). I loved it. It didn't feel rushed to me. some kids were dressed, but most weren't. We liked it better than CRT too.

We are huge fans of CRT. This last trip we did both CRT and Akersus.

Akersus exceeded our expectations. Dinner was really good. Princesses were some of the best we saw all week!

We will do PSB again and recommend with all the others on this thread.

My DD's did BBB and dressed for CRT. They did not dress for PSB and it was not an issue. There were plenty of little princesses all around though. Either way is fine at Akersus. If that is your only princess character meal during your stay then you may want to doll them up.

Enjoy!

To the OP, I found the princess dinner at Akershus the absolute best dinning experience, and also best value if you are on the dining plan.

We went in mid august, and it started with a meet, greet and photo with Belle, and then we went to the table. And then Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Ariel came to our table. The princess interaction was great. They took their time, and interacted so nicely with our DD it really helped make this trip special.

I also really appreciated that we got the picture of our DD with Belle in a picture frame. It is an 8x10, and we got (I believe) 4 4X6s of the same picture. The picture was included in the plan, and there was no charge for it. (I guess it's theoretically in the whole cost of the dinning plan, but you really don't notice it at that point.)

This was just a great experience, and I totally recommend it.

Not trying to hijack- just a question.

I have read on quite a few posts that people have seen Cinderella at Akershus. Is she pretty regular there? My DD loves Cinderella and we have this breakfast booked as well as 1900 Park Fare. But if she is normally at PSB I do not want to use the credit for 1900. Any thoughts?

From my above, you can see that Cinderella was in fact at Akershus. I just can't say how regular that it. But I was really impressed that the three classic princesses (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White) were there.

I can't say enough good things about Akershus. Plus the food was actually good.

Wow! The pics are beautiful, guys! To the OP, I believe Akershaus is so worth it....my kids were never into Cindy as much as the other princesses and I believe the breakfast food is great! I LOVE the cheesy-potato-ey thing! Anyhow, we have seen Mary Poppins, Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel, and Mulan that we can remember. We have never seen Cindy, but I am crossing my fingers she will be there next Sunday morning!

As for the price, this time around we have the dining plan, but it used to be the ONLY table service we every did (we're not big on seating down and eating....we pick all day long! LOL). I was pleasantly surprised last time that the pics were included in the price in 2007.

Although my DD is now 10 and my DS is 8 they are really looking forward to the breakfast next week.
Have fun!!!!!!

She is 3 about to be 4 in November. We were worried because usually anytime we are around new people she won't respond or interact until she gets used to them, which we knew she wouldn't have enough time to do. Also this was our first day, so it was her first experience meeting any of the characters. However she was already quite familiar with the characters we saw so she did really well. She is also in a stage where she doesn't want to pose for pictures, but by the end of the trip she was doing well!

PinkJade I am so jealous, your DD got to see both Cinderella and Aeriel at your breakfast. Both times that we have been there we saw Belle taking the picture, then Jasmine, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. My DD6 is a HUGE fan of Aeriel and she would go nuts if she saw Aeriel in her ball gown. However, my DD8 is a HUGE Jasmine fan, so when we go in December I am crossing my fingers that both will be there (we are going to both 1900 Park Fare and CRT for dinner so we will have Cinderella covered :goodvibes)

To the OP....we LOVE Akershus. We only go for breakfast (they have the BEST cheesy potatoes ever YUM!!!!!) and the interaction from the princesses are priceless. On our March trip we were dining there and my DD8's favorite princess Jasmine came up to our table and found out a that she was my DD's favorite. So Jasmine started talking to her about her movie and what her favorite part was then started asking her to sing "A Whole New World" with her. My DD was so excited and still talks about how that was the best character meal that she has ever been to.
