We have just managed to get priority seating for a Princess Storybook lunch on 30th April at the Akershus restaurant in Norway, Epcot (a nightmare trying to find any character dining availability as there are 10 of us!)

Can anyone tell me whether it's any good (I can always cancel!) - what's the food like?

Claire.

The Princess Storybook Lunch & Dinner do not start until April 15th I believe. Right now only the breakfast is available. The brekfast does get mixed reviews, but many do seem to enjoy it. I'm guessing the food will be similer to what is offered now at Akershus. You can read menus at www.wdwig.com

The food at lunch and dinner at Akershus is pretty good, though it helps if you like seafood. As I understand it the food will remain the same, but it will cost more because it's a character meal.

We are also registered for Princess Lunch (4/30, my daughter's 7th b-day), and have experienced the Princess Breakfast at Akershus -- thought it was excellent, as compared to other Character breakfasts -- but could not get in for Breakfast. (I'm a novice and did not know of the 90-day rule early enough). Website states that the Lunch is American Family Fare, so not to worry about typical Akershus Lunch, I believe.

I've been trawling the internet for more information about this character lunch & pretty much every one states that the lunch & dinner will be typical Norweigan food - only the breaaskfast is American...I guess that means seafood, cold meats, cheeses etc...I think the kids will probably have more of an American choice though...

Oh...and as we will be there on the same day - I will be the mom looking hespered with hubby, two older kids, grandparents & young baby in tow (not to mention brother, sister-in-law and their baby!) hahaha.

I wasn't interested in the Princesses, but did want to eat here for dinner in May. When I made my PS the CM assured me both the food and the price would be the same, but instead of a buffet it would be served family style. When I posted my PS here for opinions a nice lady wrote and said she had spoken to the general manager of Akershus and prices would be going up. I called the dining number yesterday to verify it and sure enough the price for dinner is going from $19.99 to $27.99. They will bring a three tiered thing out with cold Norwegian appetizers and then you will order small plates of hot Norwegian food off the menu. You can order as many times as you want, but only one thing at a time. It seems like that would take a long time and you wouldn't get as much variety as you do at the other buffets. Since I only wanted a quiet dinner and the atmosphere and was not interested in the Princesses, I cancelled my PS. If they would bring out a plate with small portions of alot of different Norwegian foods on it I would have kept it.
