PRINCESS Palooza 2011! 9/9 Update: Departure Day

Katie had an absolute BALL pin trading. It really started slowly, but once she got going, there was no stopping her. It was probably the highlight of the trip for her!
I'm already making a list for July. So far, I'm actively looking for 30 pins between the 4 of us. :rolleyes1 I only have 4 traders left on hand. I've got some work to do!

Unfortunately I can't be in your Galactic Hero army. Maybe you'll take my photos and put some big red X's on the right spot to shoot??????
Absolutely! You can start by marking a HUGE X on that orange robot's left hand (picture 1 I quoted) and another one on the bottom of Zurg in the second picture. They're worth 100K each time you hit it. In the first room (the one with the orange robot), there's a target over the door that's big points and the top of the volcano in the third room (I think) is 100K a pop. Big thing is to NOT RELEASE THE BUTTON. Avoid carpal tunnel - it'll fire on its own if you keep the trigger depressed. :teeth:

Helps to be temporarily delayed in the volcano room... :rolleyes1 But I wouldn't know ANYTHING about that... :rolleyes1

And no problem at all going back. Wasn't it nice of me to move at a slow enough pace that you only missed a couple days???? :rolleyes1
I greatly appreciate it! ::yes::

Oh no! That totally sounds like something I would totally do. I overcompensate by keeping a spare in my camera bag. So I was all set with a camera and tripod plate...... just no tripod. I'm glad you found it later, but in a drawer.... outside of your bag? I'd totally blame the kids. Too bad they weren't along!
I can't figure out when I would've taken it out. It LIVES in my bag. I blame Erica - she made me sleep deprived! popcorn::

I have an expandable ISO, but won't do that. Native ISO goes up to 6400. I shot some more at 6400 this time, but definitely saw a big loss of IQ. It does really well at 3200 though so I used it for a lot of handheld night shots.
Wow! Your 3200 is much more saturated than mine. I cannot get a lick in HM. Nothing. Nadda. Not too bad for hand holding... you could always do what I tell my 4-Hers: brace on anything solid. Even trash cans. ESPECIALLY trash cans at Disney... they're really clean.

Oh no! I hate you lost your tripod! I sure hope they were able to find it. And Katie not wanting to wear the skirts anymore. :sad2: Sigh... growing up sure is hard on the parents! She is still super cute though and I love the top. All the character pics are great! I love the empty park pics too! They look great without a million strangers in the background.

Ha, you fooled me! I didn't even realize you had done an update!

Missing tripod,
"Ma'am, what does your tripod look like?
"You know, 3 legs, bracket on top to attach camera"
"Oh Ok, No we don't have it"

Please tell me if that's how the conversation went!:lmao: Sorry, I kid...

Amazing shots around AK, I think the EE one is tops! I could put that on my wall and just stare!

Kadence loves Katies top, it's the animal print that draws her. She said Katie should have worn the skirt! LOL

Sorry I haven't commented in awhile. School and other matters had my attention, but I'm back and all caught up! :thumbsup2 As always I just love the pictures! :) (and this is why I need a DSLR) Sorry to hear about the tripod situation, though, I hope you found one before MVMCP ::yes:: Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

if you're looking for someone to pass the applique tops / anything else to, I've got a girl a few yrs younger than Katie! hinthint. haha.

LOL! I'll keep you in mind. And you're close by too! If I ever get the gumption to get stuff listed though, I'll probably put a few on Ebay. I like to sell some of last year's things to finance this year's trip.

I was just thinking today that I need to start buying some traders to put aside for our next trip. The genie is out of the bottle. I think we're going to have very high pin needs this time!

LOL! My best score ever was at Disneyland when we got stopped along the way. I had just happened upon a high value target and just kept at it. It really ticked my video-game-playing boys off that I made mincemeat out of them!

I greatly appreciate it! ::yes::

Still going slow enough for you? :rotfl: Cuz, if it weren't for you, I'd probably be done by now! :rotfl2:

I can't figure out when I would've taken it out. It LIVES in my bag. I blame Erica - she made me sleep deprived! popcorn::

I think that's an absolutely fair argument. HA! :rotfl:

Yep. I've heard that the trash doesn't stink at Disney! :rotfl2: Actually I'm really surprised I do so well at those slower shutter speeds. My hands have always been really unsteady.

This week's subject in the DIS photography contest is On Ride Photography. I moved ahead of myself and pulled out one of my favorite pictures of the entire trip. Anyone wanna see?????? :rolleyes1

I do love the high ISO performance of my camera. It's probably my favorite feature since I love shooting low-light at Disney more than anything.

I sure hope they were able to find it too! Wouldn't want to give anything away you know...... Drew thought I was nuts to even hope that they'd find it. He assured me that once it was lost, it was just lost.

And yeah. Sigh..... on the "not wanting any more skirt sets" thing....... I'm already negotiating with her for the next trip. No skirt sets, but one more trip to the boutique....... where I get to pick the hairstyle. I told her she owes me that after what she did this last time! :rotfl:

I LOVE this picture! Where do you stand to get this view? I'm really excited to use my camera this trip and so I'm stalking everyone on here and making a list of all the places that are "must do" photos.....does that make me OCD? :lmao:

Thanks! It was taken from a bridge very near Tusker House. I hope you can get the ducks to stop swimming and avoid all those ripples in the water that detracted from the reflection of Everest in the water!

Ha, you fooled me! I didn't even realize you had done an update!

Yep. That pretty much covers it. I was just SURE they'd call me right away that morning with my tripod. I was quite sure it had been left on the bus. I just couldn't believe they wouldn't find it there at the end of the night. So when the guy from the POP called me during breakfast and said transportation didn't find it....... I was REALLY disappointed....

Amazing shots around AK, I think the EE one is tops! I could put that on my wall and just stare!

Awww... thanks! :goodvibes Seriously, if you want any files let me know. Your shots are great, but you didn't get to AK did you? How about on this next trip, the one Kadence is going to tell us all about soon????? :teeth:

Kadence loves Katies top, it's the animal print that draws her. She said Katie should have worn the skirt! LOL

I will DEFINITELY tell her! Then I'll tell her I'm taking Kadence in her place on the next trip!

:mickeyjum

Boy do I understand! I'm the last one to complain when someone is sidetracked. My life is one huge sidetrack......

Thanks for the kind words! I hope I found it too!

I am so sorry. I have been known to rub bad luck onto people. (Skip used to be one of the top tractor pullers before I came along :rolleyes1) I know the pain and the preocupation with it too. I did go and buy a new battery charger when I lost that in the room. Luckily it was found, but I just couldn't take the chance.
Now I'm gonna sound like a dumby, but what is a tripod plate? I have a really cheapy one, so I guess I never really learned the terms. (It actually was free with a video camera purchase when Paige and Michael were little)

I do love your pictures, so even though you were upset, you got some great photos.

LOL! So it's YOUR fault! :lmao: Cuz up until then, I thought my travel angel was doing a pretty good job of looking out for me......

The tripod plate is the piece you attach to the tripod of your camera that allows it to be attached to the tripod itself. I usually end up just leaving mine on most of the time so it's there when I need it.

I gave Katie an old cheapie tripod of mine recently. She's been making stop motion videos. I couldn't find the tripod plate, so she's been taping the point and shoot camera to it. :rotfl: She's nothing if not resourceful! You should see the video she did last night. Her room cleaned itself. The clothes folded themselves before my very eyes, the stuffed animals climbed into the basket, the socks scrunched along the floor and into the drawer like little inchworms. She's a very creative young lady.

Awww... thanks! Seriously, if you want any files let me know. Your shots are great, but you didn't get to AK did you? How about on this next trip, the one Kadence is going to tell us all about soon?????

No, we didn't get to AK. I feel that is the park we shortchange.

Our next trip.......Kadence is working on a surprise way to announce it. She came up with it while watching our trip video. Let's just say, she loves to be interviewed like she's a news reporter.;)

I will DEFINITELY tell her! Then I'll tell her I'm taking Kadence in her place on the next trip!

:rotfl2:Kadence would wear anything in the world to go, even itchy clothes!

LOL! I'll keep you in mind. And you're close by too! If I ever get the gumption to get stuff listed though, I'll probably put a few on Ebay. I like to sell some of last year's things to finance this year's trip.

yeah you should do ebay, you'd for sure sell! and just so you know, I'm totally willing to pay if you do decide to sell!

I was just thinking today that I need to start buying some traders to put aside for our next trip. The genie is out of the bottle. I think we're going to have very high pin needs this time!
I told my buddy that I'd go in on a lot or three with them if they found something really good.

Isn't that the best part?? :upsidedow

Still going slow enough for you? :rotfl: Cuz, if it weren't for you, I'd probably be done by now! :rotfl2:
Aww... shucks...

I feel so HONORED! :worship:

I think that's an absolutely fair argument. HA! :rotfl:

One of these days I'll have my chance to shoot WDW the way I want to. Maybe by then I'll have the camera that I want. :thumbsup2

Are you asking us to beg??? :confused3

:hyper:

Yup, definitely let us know... I have a darling 3YO that would love some of your stuff!

HAH! I knew that was going to be the big announcement! Yeah, like we were all wondering still......

The news reporter bit sounds hysterical! And even though I've never met Kadence, it sounds just like her.... if that makes any sense!

Tell Kadence I'm insulted that she thinks my things are itchy! :snooty:

yeah you should do ebay, you'd for sure sell! and just so you know, I'm totally willing to pay if you do decide to sell!

I used to auction stuff there all the time, but it's just not the same site it used to be.

I would love to see her video

Well, if I even knew HOW to put it on the computer and upload it, I'd consider it......but I'm pretty stupid about all things video.

I told my buddy that I'd go in on a lot or three with them if they found something really good.

:hyper:
I too hope you get to go to Disney one day soon with the camera of your dreams!

I really didn't want you to have to beg to see my photo....... I was just seeing if everyone was still awake after going at such a slow pace for a while! I'll post it in a moment!

Yup, definitely let us know... I have a darling 3YO that would love some of your stuff!

I'll let you know if I do.

OK, I jumped ahead in my editing but had been dying to see this one full screen. Just a little sneak peek at some of the fun we had with our girlfriends later in the week........

I'm calling this one "Crazy Hair Day at Splash Mountain"......

.

Half our Disney video is John turning the camera on Kadence and asking her things about what we were doing. She even came up with a way to finish each " segment" She say, Kady OUT! :lmao:

Oh she doesn't think your stuffs itchy, but that how far she'd be willing to go to get there!:thumbsup2

Nice shot!:lmao:

Thanks Carey!

I really wish I had footage like that discussing our trips. My T2i has video. Maybe I need to learn to use it!

And I was just messing with you on the itchy stuff.......

All caught up now and eeeeeeek! missing tripod!!!!!! You still got some awesome shots. But you know if you are needing to replace, there is that handy dandy thread about tripod recommendations on the photography board :rolleyes1
