PRINCESS Palooza 2011! 9/9 Update: Departure Day

This is the supposed to be the last week for tennis, so we're trying to make it to all the remainng matches. Yesterday was at Winnetonka (for my KC buddies). He won his doubles match and lost singles 9-7, so it was a good day. Very competitive.

Mike, did your son end up playing tennis? If so, how's it going?

He's in 8th grade and there is no tennis team at that age but we found a gentleman that teaches tennis and he has coached him for the last few months. Really only 3-4 lessons. He seems to be doing well but we had hoped to see a match or two to get a good comparison of what he might be in store for next year.

Congrats to your son on his doubles match! Wondering about the scoring on the singles match, 9-7? They don't play sets or did it go into a tie breaker?

I bet he'll do great. I think Districts are early next week. But I bet if you contact his high school you could still find a time to take him to a match or two before it's all over.

I'm new to tennis (completely) this year. But I think they usually play sets to 8 (JV anyway...... not sure if Varsity is different) but have to win by 2. Don't hold me to that though. Heck, I went an entire season of soccer when Timmy was a freshman without knowing what offsides really was! :rotfl2:

I have to go catch up.....but I had to post this for you.

12/14 Hollywood Studios:

This was our day to return to DHS. We had 2 things on our "to do" list for the day: Ride RnR as many times as possible, and see "Beauty & the Beast".

I was looking forward to seeing the show again after our odd experience there last year. We slept in a little later then went down to the food court for some breakfast. We headed for the bus stop around 9 AM and entered the park around 9:30.

I took a lot of photos of the ride building for Tower of Terror, but we never did ride it this trip. Katie didn't want to, and to be honest, neither did I! But it sure makes a great photo op!

Now on to what we REALLY wanted to ride....... the best ride in all of Disney!

I also mentioned seeing Beauty and the Beast today. If you didn't read along with my 2010 trip report, here's a link to the story of our last trip to see Beauty & the Beast:

and the conclusion of that story:

After riding RnR a couple times and picking up 2 sets of fastpasses, we headed for the candy shop. I needed another pretzel rod. Dang those things are good! And since we weren't going to Downtown Disney, this would be the only place we could get one.

Before long, it was time to head for Beauty & the Beast Theater. We had a date with destiny...........

..............OK, so maybe that's a little over-dramatic.

Hmmmm...... I hope this goes better than last year........

I love Rockin' Rollercoaster! I would be happy riding it all day. I am excited to hear how your Beauty and the Beast show went.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Jen - that card was great!

Sorry to leave everyone hanging. We just got back from my nephew's wedding. Man, I'm feeling old! Hopefully I can get the next update done before I have to leave in the morning.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. But after watching my nephew get married, I decided against any further birthdays.........

I'm 44 and have three great-nephews. Top that. ;)

Looking forward to the next one, as always. But remember, Sunday's supposed to be a day of rest--sounds like you could use it! :goodvibes

OK. I'm 68 and have an 11 year old daughter. See? Modern scientific miracle.

Oh. You meant REAL age and not just the age I FEEL! Close enough.

Actually I have from 3:00 to 3:03 blocked out for rest tomorrow, so all is good.

Just kidding. It's not that bad tomorrow. I'm running Timmy out to Grandma's house to work on his Spanish final. He has to do a walking tour through a house in Spanish and I didn't feel like cleaning enough for him to do that here! Who knew the house could get so messy when we're never here!
