Princess Meal Dilemma

I would keep the CRT....there is something magical about eating in the castle.

Came to a decision overnight, then found that the consensus is the same. I'm canceling Akershus.

So, a 12:15 ADR at Princess Storybook Dining on Wed. Sept. 22 is about to open up. Go get it if you want it.

and thank you all.

We went last year at the same time of year as you. My daughter was the same age as your DD. We did both lunches.

Honestly, the CRT was so much more magical than Askerhus, the food was way better and they did more with the kids (music etc.). I would pick CRT over Norway lunch anyday. Just IMO. :goodvibes

Have a great time!

I hope you're happy with your decision, Bonobo. It's the same one I would have made...
We've eaten at both and while I won't say the food is very good at either (especially for the price); I will say that you will be treated "more royally" at CRT.
The atmosphere at CRT is really "magical" - you'll see what I mean after you've dined. Please be sure to check out the tile work in the castle on your way into the restaurant - the artwork is phenomenal.
You're pretty much left to stand in line outside on the pavement while waiting for your ADR at Askerhaus.
You'll most likely be herded like cattle thru both venues - we were.
As I mentioned, the food is not great at either place.
Both photo op's were pathetic - it's almost a crime the way people are sent thru those queues only to line up for a photo which is lame, at best. But we did it for our granddaughter - and I'm totally glad we did (ONCE - I don't think I'd ever do it again - but the photos from both places are nice souveniers. Not something I think is worth the price - but who can place a value on memories?)
The layout at CRT is more condusive to visitation by the characters, IMHO. It's a large circular room with a couple levels - so the princesses can visit several tables and you know they'll be at yours soon. They seem to circle the room. There's also a magical experience when the FGM makes the lights flicker and everyone makes a wish.... It just seems more open and personal.
The layout at Askerhaus is somewhat less cohesive - the princesses appear here and there (I'm sure they have a route, but that's hard for a "Princess In Waiting" to figure out when Ariel is visiting the table next to you, then turns and goes in another direction, when you're expecting her to grace your table next... Try explaining that to a 5 year old :)! There are corners, columns, and other obstacles blocking your view and the flow of the princesses.
So - have a GREAT time! I wouldn't trade the memories at either place for anything, but if I had my druthers, I'd choose CRT any day.
