My SIL is taking her niece to DL in a few weeks, and wanted to know of fun things to do with a 6 year old girl. All my Disney knowledge only pertains to WDW in Orlando...so I told her I would post the question to you fantastic people!! :goodvibes

Two things she knows she wants to do is a sit-down princess meal and take her to the BBB. Can anyone give me any info on these things in DL? Also....she is going in a few weeks, so I told her she may not be able to get an ADR for this close to her trip.

Any other info or good tips for taking little girls - fun things to do? Thanks in advance!!

Unkike WDW, the only Princess character meal is Ariel's Grotto at DCA. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's similar to the way they serve and Cinderella's Castle. Meet and Pic with Ariel first and then get seated. They serve family style. At Lunch and dinner, and Appetizer/ salad tray is served, you choose your entree and a dessert tray is served. If you want additional desserts or appetizers, they will bring it. BBB is new to DL. It's supposed to be opened soon if not already.

Thanks for the info!!!

Do you call the same Disney dining number to make ressie's in DL?

Yes it is 714-781-DINE and up to 60 days prior to your reservation. You tell them how many people and the date and time then they try to get you as close as possible.

Just to let you know (if you don't already), AG is in DCA and BBB is in DL. So depending on her *transformation* time and package figure about 45 to 60 minutes cushion time in between the BBB and AG. That of course if she plans to do the *do* before they have a meal with the princess. Hope that helps.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique started at WDW a few years ago. It's a place for girls to get princess makeovers. Boys can have a cool guy makeover with spiky hair. Gorls get their hair nails and makeup done and can even have a photoshoot in a princess dress. DD did it at WDW when she was 5. A "fairy godmother" did everything and before they saw themselves in the mirror, the gidmother had a wand and touched them with pixie dust and said Bibiddi Bobbidi Boo! Super cute. I think it was around $40 for hair, makeup and press on nails. Girls got to keep the "goodie bag of stuff used". They also get a sash.

We are doing the same thing (BBB and lunch at AG). We made BBB reservations at 11:00 and 11:10 for my children. I was told that DD's transformation would take 20 minutes and the knight package for DS would be 10 minutes. Our AG lunch is at 12:40 so that give us about an hour to get from DL to DCA.

Here is a link to a helpful thread regarding walking distance and BBB prices: BBB thread.
