We have reservations at the castle for lunch with the princess's on our upcoming trip. We will be taking our 6 and 3yr old granddaughters. Do the girls generally wear princess outfits for these breakfasts and lunches? I think it would be uncomfortable to enjoy the MK in these outfits, however, I wouldn't want them to be disappointed if most of the girls were wearing them and our granddaughters were not. Thanks.

We saw quite a mix of both! If the girls do wear thier dresses, just be sure to make them wear tennis shoes with them - that would really help with touring tha parks in the dresses.

Hi,

You could take a spare change of clothes for them to change into after the lunch if they decided not to wear the dress for the rest of the day.

There's actually quite a bit of talk about this on the Disney for Families section. The consensus seems to be that if you're concerned, bring a change of clothes, either in a backpack or you can rent a locker. Lots of people reported that their children had no problem wearing the outfits all day, as long as they wore their sneakers.

My daughter only did this once, so far, at Disneyland, but the tulle of the dress ripped and my husband was able to walk her back to the hotel and change her clothes fairly quickly. She *did not* want to change.

We are planning on taking my girls there but we are going to take a change of clothes for them.

When we were there in November, lots of girls had on princess dresses.

We brought the dresses for my girls, and they changed from their shorts to the dresses just for lunch, then back again after lunch. I had the dresses hanging from the stroller with plastic over them (like bringing stuff home from the dry cleaners), so they wouldn't get wrinkled or dirty before lunch.

Worked well. The girls didn't want to walk around in the dresses in the parks, but enjoyed wearing them in the restaurants (did castle and Norway as well). Each time, they got extra attention from the princess they were dressed as. I'd say it was about half the girls in princess dresses, half not, at both meals.

Have fun!

We took our 6 and 2.5yo dd's last fall, and they did not wear costumes. We saw a few girls in costume, but most were not. Our 6yo did wear her Jasmine costume to MNSSHP that week, but the 2.5yo took off her Snow White dress on the bus on the way to the park. Evidently she'd rather be comfortable than glamorous. princess:
