Princess Half Marathon

Brand new to Disboard and not sure where to post this, we're doing the Princess Half in 57 days (but who's counting) and would like to hear from people who have done it before. Important questions like 1) How to wear a tiara while you're running 2) How is the expo? 3) What is the potty situation along the course?

We did the Disneyland Half last September and will be doing it again in 2011 for the coast-to-coast medal and are very excited about being in Orlando.

Another question not related to the race is about internet access at the hotels. We're staying at the Carribean. What are the options for internet access other than $10 a day?

I'm doing the half in Feb., too! i'd be interested to hear about the course. Is it pretty flat? I was just at Disney and don't recall many hills - not that that is a real problem or anything, just need to know for training purposes!

And as far as I know about the internet, it is $10 a day. I couldn't find free wifi anywhere on Disney property. Luckily I have a smart phone so I could check pretty much anything I needed on that.

I see that they have a thread going for the Princess Half Marathon: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2431367 . They are a really friendly and helpful group over there so jump in and say Hi and ask questions.

As for your resort/internet question you might want to ask on our Resorts Board, but I think that if you are staying on Disney property you don't really have any other options, unless you have a dohickey that allows you to get wireless anywhere (like a cell phone thing? no idea what that is called). Otherwise if you have a car you can find a local place like Panera or McDonalds that may have free internet.

I ran the 2010 Princess 1/2 marathon and loved it. It was my first half marathon and really glad I did it there. The atmosphere is fantastic and the course is fairly flat. The expo was good but you really need to get there early. We got there early and it wasn't crowded at all. By the time we left it was getting really crazy.

I wore a princess headband that had a crown attached but I tossed it to some friends in the crowd about halfway through. It really bothered me running with it on. There were so many people that wore all types of crowns, dresses, etc.

It was a great time and wish I could do it this year!
