Princess gratuity increase

FYI - I got an email from Princess today to inform me of the increase. After 1/1/2016 the new daily amount is $12.95 (was $11.50). Suites are now $13.95 (was $12.00). I think I can guess what the next change is for DCL!

NCL raised theirs over the summer. If it's industry standard and that's what DCL seems too strive for nowadays.......

That is a price raise that I would not mind as it directly benefits those who are working so hard on the ships. Ever since I started to get interested in DCL the gratuities have been the same, so a small increase is absolutely ok for me. The Princess increase of 1.45 $ per person per night would be an additional 40.45 $ for a family of four on a 7-night cruise.

We generally tip more than the standard rate anyway, so no biggie either way.
