princess: For those of you with dd's. Did you let your little princess wear her "princess dress" all day???? Does this pose a problem on rides??? We are going in the Winter *dec* time, so I can't imagine that the heat will be a problem. Just wondering more on a saftey issue.

Thanks.
Nicole

I'm sure there are lots of other little girls who wear their princess dresses all day and if there were any safety issue Disney would let you know (there shouldn't be on any of the kiddie rides, for sure).

My main concern would be the child's comfort. Another recent post mentioned how some little girls wear their princess shoes and the parents don't appear to bring alternate footwear, which could turn into a big problem later in the day. One parent told her child she could wear her dress all day only if she was wearing comfy sneakers under it.

Take along a spare outfit for her to change into. Since you're going in December (me too!), you could even have her wear the dress over another outfit so she could just take it off. Another mom advised taking a pack along to put the tiara, wand, etc. in when she gets tired of carrying them.

Take lots of princess pictures and have a great time! :flower:

Last year DD wore her Cindy dress for our breakfast at CRT. We brought along a spare outfit and shoes - just in case. After the breakfast she wanted to keep the dress on and we let her. It was a great experience, as it got some nice interaction for her with other characters and CMs. We didn't run into any issues while on rides or anything. We went back to our rooms midday and she changed out of her dress for our evening back at the parks.

This year DD wore her Jasmine outfit (the pant suit type) and that was even easier to wear around the parks.

Weather-wise, we were lucky on both trips and had wonderful weather (80 pretty much everyday). Friends of ours have gone at Thanksgiving time and New Years and dressed their DD with long sleeves under her princess dress.

I would encourage her to wear the outfit, it will be great fun and make for lots of great memories and photo oppotunities.

I would say that yes, let her wear the dress all day if that's what she wants. It doesn't pose any safety issues with rides etc. but, I would defiantely have comfortable shoes ready with the dress. My DD 5 wore her one of her princess dresses everyday on our trip last month, and she was completely comfortable. I had her wear a pair of white leather ked walking shoes, and all was great! I just shake my head when I see other little girls clicking and clacking along, for an hour is fine but all day? :confused3 P.S. the added attention is also wonderful, so many people complimented my daughter on how pretty she looked.

OUr friends took their DDs to WDW recently & planned on wearing their princess dresses for some of the time. I bought them some really cushy white Keds and decorated them with lots of pretty "jewels", lace, etc.. and gave them to their mom about a month before the trip. They wore them around the house to break them in and had some pretty, but practical, shoes to wear with their dresses. Just a thought!

Have fun on all your trips. :wave2:

Zoe is really excited to do that...she saw a commercial on one of the video's she has with Belle and a little girl in a Belle costume and my little princess has been like a grizly bear with the last salmon in the world! I'm glad other's have had positive experiences with the dresses!
Another idea for shoes...Zoe was belle last year for Halloween and she was between sizes for the shoes. We bought her ballet slippers. They worked great and she still felt like she had special shoes on! No sore feet.
